You two are conducting the Geno Amtrak. Everyone but you two and SDH has bailed on it yet you continue to conduct it.

He has proven ability to run and throw. It takes some time to become a good QB in this league. You would have to be a real dumbass to write off someone with his ability after 13 games. He may never make it, but people that write him off this early have an agenda.

Who said they were? I said those were his best games.

Unlike most of the people in this thread it's not all or nothing on these guys for me. There is some fluidity and shades of gray with players.

Considering how much you dislike him I would have figured. Amazing that his "worst" games stats wise have been wins and his best have been losses. When the defense steps up he does less. When our defense fails he elevates his game.

Hey, lets play " how bad was Alex Smith as a rookie."

I'll start.

He ended the year with a 40.2 quarterback rating.

That's not for one bad game that was a 40 rating, that was his season rating.

Not writing him off at all, but maybe, just maybe he is not as good as previously thought. Maybe the Chiefs were right in not taking him #1 overall.

He was also on a far worse team than Geno.

My mind can be changed unlike others in this thread that won't acknowledge a solid showing by Geno.

However, your statement is bullshit. I highly doubt that they want to have games decided by 1 possession if they could have games similar to today, especially with Andy Reid coaching. They weren't attempting to dial it back and not move the ball and scored points LMAO

Sums it up nicely

So a light switch suddenly went on with him? I doubt that. I blame playcalling in the first nine games more than Alex Smith playing like crap.

Well, they also took out the shit on the line. Regardless they weren't not trying to score LMAO

Hard to succeed when your starting are WRs Brandon Lloyd and Arnaz Battle and TE Billy Bajema.

I agree with you on this. I think they finally realized what the problem was and it was not the guy under center.

Alex Smith doesn't win if the other team puts up points. It's just the way it is.

His backs were Frank Gore and Kevin Barlow.

His receivers were Brandon Lloyd, Jonnie Morton and Arnaz Battle. Th previous year in KC, Morton had 800 yards receiving at 14.5 per catch. Lloyd had 700 yards.

I'd take that group over what NY currently has.

I mean shit, the guy had a running game and there was enough talent at receiver to move the offense.

I'm not nessesarily defending Geno or slamming Alex with that, either. Just showing that all rookie quarterbacks have their moments and its not entirely any kind of signal to their long term effectiveness.

Could be, but I'd like to see more than 3 games before I'm sold.
