A few years ago here in Wichita we had the worst hail storm I've ever seen. EVERYTHING was damaged. Every car in town had the texture of a golf ball. A bunch of the insurance companies just refused to pay and packed up a left town.

They never did determine the cause, although I suspect it was probably a pinched nerve. But all that money and time, and they basically did NOTHING other than poke and prod and siphon my fucking blood.

If that ever happens again, I'll probably just stay home. Hopefully that won't result in my death, but at this point, unless I'm bleeding out of my eyes or in screaming pain, I'm just going to ride it out. To hell with getting financially assraped by the scumfuck hospital. I'll just take my chances. If that's the cost of the first night, seriously, I can't afford to be sick, whether I am or not. Who can?

And I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield. According to the commercials these evile fucks run on the radio every day, I'm as safe as a babe in his mother's arms. Yeah, right.

Every year healthcare costs go up and healthcare benefits go down. All of us (excepting those who are made of money) are one serious medical problem away from financial ruin - especially after our Republican friends rammed the new bankruptcy laws through.

Just another nail in the coffin of the American middle class. We are most definitely an endangered species.

Also, I hate to say it, but I am probably going to take a similar tact regarding medical visits. I'm not poor, but I refuse to shell out 600 bucks for the treatment I received last time. I'll just have to tough it out. I could spend that 600 on much better things.

As for the baby boomer group being so huge, I fail to see how having a huge group of people sucking on the system that is currently partially funded by (but will soon enough be entirely funded by in the case of socialist insecurity ) a class that is "too friggin small" makes it MORE solvent or LESS expensive.

Shut your pie hole and get to work!

Although those percosets would almost be worth it.

I continued to take them even after my back was healed. I'm glad I didn't get the prescription refilled. I definately would have been hooked if I had.

I lived there then. Softball sized hail! 1991 I think. It totaled four cars for me and wrecked my house. My square mile area was one of the worst hit of all, near Central and West. My insurance company paid everything. Sorry to year you got screwed.

I'm in health care and I'd like to thank all of you for contributing to my paycheck. :p

I have wonderful insurance. My bills are 90% covered, unless I go to a hospital we own, in which case, I'm 100% covered. :D

Granted I'm a 20 year old female who's been driving legally for 2 years now.

And my health insurance is fine!

A 20 year old female who's only been driving for 2 years should be paying 350 a month.

Surely you are not the girl on the commercial that had two accidents in her first 15 seconds of driving are you? :p

I dunno. I think you have the better end of this deal. In 12 years with the company, I've used my insurance twice. I use cable and the internet every damn day.

Bastard. :cuss:

How do I sign up for that free cable and internet gig anyway? ;)
