The guy who wrote that piece (Max Burbank) is an acquaintance of mine (we worked together for a year or two in the early 90s). Funny guy, wry sense of humor.

Watched it last night with the fam, which is why I was reminded of this.

My boys are old enough now (19 and 15) and so familiar with it that we give it the MST3K treatment to try to keep things fresh. Each year we're able to come up with a few new jokes.

It has to be the #1 holiday special that families watch every year. No matter how many times you have seen the show.
