If they wanted to keep Green at less money then Huard shouldn't be back......keeping both of them is just dumb.

So is he making less then Huard now? If so, then we know who first and second string QB's are.

I don't think it's dumb. They're hedging their bets.
I think the Chiefs think Green is the superior quarterback. But they don't want to pay him a ton of money at this point. They'll gladly take Huard, who is slightly inferior to Green, at a reduced rate. But they'd like to have Green all the same, but only if he comes cheaper than he is right now. And of course, they can always trade him if the offer is good enough. They get to have their cake and eat it too. |

It does not say start to me when I read it. The competition will be TG and DH with the loser traded to the first team with a QB injury. HE has needed plenty of quarterbacks the last two years, so maybe we have 4. :) |

Samie called Trent The Mentor. That is until Len Dawson smacked him upside the head with a half empty Maker's Mark bottle.

Huard was signed i rekon because he will be the starter for at least some of the season. greens been great but his times upi think un less he has an outstanding preseson that he will either be the third strng on reduced pay or traded or even relesed. aswell a foxsports article or whatever dosnt reflect the views of kansas city chiefs and theres know way you can think that huard will not start because hes not mentioned there. also i think croyle will be good but i doubt that he starts from day one, then again like trent a strog preseson could change that. anyways just some thoughts. :)

I mean, I like the idea of both trying to compete for a starting job, but any organization would be stupid to tie up 10 million dollars into 2 QB's. Unless, Green restructures, then that wouldn't be too bad. But, I don't see him getting paid anywhere near a backup QB. He is prolly gonna still want starting QB money. Even if we keep him, he wins the job, and Huard is the backup. It doesn't make sense either to pay him 2.5-3 million dollars to sit on the bench. At 37 years of age, coming off a concussion, with a decline in his play this year it is hard to see a role for Green on this team right now. Especially when it was clear Huard was the better QB last year, and the fact that we re-signed him. And even just knowing that Croyle is in the teams future plans. *I think this gives every reason to either trade him or release him. No point in keeping Green. |

Get Green out of KC now. Green's been a class act and it would be nice if he went out a winner, but that ain't happening. He doesn't fit with Herm's style, he was clearly unhappy with the playcalling at the end of the year (as was LJ and Tony). If you can get a pick for him, give him permission to renegotiate with another team. |
