Everybody is talking about rebuilding as if there is no chance that we could have a great year. Think about the Saints last year.

A friend of mine that is also on the planet was reminding me the other day of a year when like 17 of our starters were new and we went to the playoffs that year. Like I said, It won't hurt Brodie to sit another year and learn. Trent is still our best quarterback in my opinion.

Haha. Start one of those guys and go 1-15 then.

Yea I'm sure we're on par with those top AFC teams...

This is the year, when we still have a few holes, to let Croyle get the kinks out.

This team is about a run in 2008, and Trent Green isn't going to be part of that.

Are you saying that we will get 2008 picks for him or that we will just cut him and get nothing. And if the latter, Why didn't we take the 6th rounder from Miami?

KCBOSS1 04-29-2007 02:43 PM

I will always contend for Trent and I know that I'm biased. But I do have to say that if in Trent and Carl's mind, this is totally over, we should at least get something out of it. If that is the case, Carl really did crap in his hat in this whole deal.

I think so as well. A 3rd rounder next year at least. If not I hope Trent starts here in KC.

I would be BESIDE myself if Trent came back and kept playing. I think he's heads and shoulders above any quarterback on our roster and deserves to play his career out right here, for better or worse.

He's the best QB we've had since Joe Montana and frankly he deserves better than to be shipped off.

keep Green unless somebody makes a legit offer.

and i mean keep him for the entire year

let him compete for the starting spot.

I would agree with you if we would spend the money elsewhere but we won't. So, it comes down to the Hunts having an extra $7m or the Chiefs contending this year.

If we have holes to fill a 6th round pick isn't going to do the trick.

Is there an FA out there that you have your eyes on that we could sign instead of keeping Green?

Dont have to be on Par not always the best team wins it all. We just have to get hot at the right time. Not saying the Chiefs will win it all. I know they wont, but anything can happen if your defense shows up.

I agree with you. **** Miami, let them start Cleo Lemon or a rookie reach.

I still can't believe people are hanging onto this.

The Chiefs aren't going to contend, with or without Green.

Why are you so sour on this season? The defense should only be getting better and we have one of the best running backs in the league. I'm cautiously upbeat about the WR core for the first time in forever. If the offensive line can hold up and protect whoever's back there, barring Croyle being a bust if he's the starter, we could be in the wildcard mix.

Agreed, not with a couple of geriatric starting CB's
