Listening to KK today was excruciatingly painful.

I am not gay- but I LOVE Trent.

First, KC has told Trent that they plan to give Croyle 80% of the snaps in TC. I doubt there is a way to win the QB battle getting 10% of the snaps (assuming Damon gets the other 10%). Second, KC has told Trent that they want to get younger at the QB position and they want him to take a pay cut and be a back up. Third, Trent has told KC that he will not take a pay cut to play for the Chiefs and that he does not want to be a back up at this point in his carreer. I believe that there is virtually no chance in hell that Trent is back with KC this year. With all that has been said, I just don't see how they can patch things up. Stranger things have happened, but i just don't see a way. It's like sharing a room with your ex-girlfriend after a break up. It seldom works.

Just a question. Is this a change in the last CBA? I know they used to be able to spread the prorated portion of the signing bonus over 2 years if the player was dropped after June 1st and had the take the full hit if he was dropped before. Did this recently change?

New CBA rule starting this year -

Prior to the start of the league year, teams may designate up to two (2) veteran players that they will cut after June 1 to spread out the signing bonus escalation (See 1.9b). In so designating them, the team allows these players to become free agents at the start of the free agency period -- although their cap liability remains with the original team just as it would have if the player had stayed on the roster until after June 1.

I assume Sammy Knight and maybe Eric Hicks were already given that honor. Maybe not. CP might have kept one of these just to be able to use for Trent.

Just curious where you got the 80% figure from. I haven't heard or read that anywhere. Green said "majority" in his interview on 810.

Green has told the Chiefs he will not return
but there have been reports he works out at Arrowhead
and goes to QB meetings -this makes no sense

I'd be willing to bet Trent hasn't taken more than 30% of the snaps in any preseason with the Chiefs, including camp.

First teamers are never on the field in preseason games, and the time I spent at camp last year, I didn't see a whole lot of Trent. The majority of the work went to Huard and Printers. (Brodie was out 2 of the 3 days I was there)

I really think CP is sincere when he said there would be competition for the job. I just think Trent is worried he can't beat out Brodie or Damon......

I really don't think that's an issue. I think that Trent just doesn't want to play for this coaching staff/team/front office any longer. I think it has very little to do with a fear of competition.

Certainly. He's used to being coddled and this is rough on him.
