I'm lazy, the only thinkg I do right is the spices, I also use Penzeys.

2 cans of Bush's chili starter
1 can of black beans drained
2 lbs of ground chuck
16 oz tomato sauce
16 oz water
1 jar salsa
spices.

People just don't realize what a difference fresh ground meat makes. Processed grinds at the grocery don't cut it. It's especially useful if grinding different cuts together (beef/pork/poultry). Recipes always turn out better when ground together rather than mixed after the fact.

Thats why people who have really great meat markets in their area should see how fortunate they are. Its worth the drive from KC to Peculiar to get great fresh meat from a real live honest to goodness butcher. We never get anything from Cass County Meats that we are not totally thrilled with.
