Well this movie gives no origins or explanation of the monster whatsoever.

Just saw the movie 10 minutes ago. Best part about the whole movie is you do not know dick! just like you would if this crazy shit happend.

Now I know a lot of people are going to hate it, but it is nothing like "blair witch Hack" from years back. Hud adds just enough 'stupidity' with his running commentary that it cracks the suspense and anger and whatever else you might feel. this movie is not for those who have little imagination and are unwilling to bend their brains a bit to let go. It is a really fun movie to go see actually. I am a dumb 23 year old, about the age of the main characters, and I can tell you I would have done 90% of the shit they did... if I was the main character that is. I am impulsive and have ADHD though, so that might be part of it. Plus I grew up LOVING Godzilla so I was psyched to see this.

I give it 3.5 out 5 just because it pissed me off a few times.

edit: It was well worth my $6.50 (student discount). See it now too, the theatre was packed and it was great, nobody made a sound in the intense moments, even when the movie was silent, not a peep from the crowd. I love movies that get you into it (I get into them easy), but when the whole crowd is into it, it is the best!

I've read enough to know that much... and I think that's great. To be in "that guy's" shoes when some shit like that goes down...

I think it's cool that we won't see the hero soldier... the genious (Chiefsplanet spelling) scientist, etc.

Just a bunch of normal people freaked the hell out.

I'd rather have at least some of the story presented in the movie instead of having to dig through a bunch of viral websites.

Exactly! That is the best part, it is just some dude in a city, could be you, could be me... not some scientist, not some general, not the president. You dont need to dig through viral websites for the story, there is no need, the story is presented to you rather suddenly in the film. It is a pretty simple one, friends at a party get freaked the **** out, see something and there is your story... like it would be in real life. No real twists or plot turns, just straight up batshit crazy stuff happening.

ouch. that's harsh.
i enjoyed the movie all the way through. the sound was AMAZING. the camera and the way it was filmed didn't both me - i also had my barf bag that they were handing out at palace on the plaza.
only thing i didn't really care for was the "love" aspects they forced into it. no way i'd make my way through that destroyed 60 story apt building for some bitch. 7.5/10

go see this movie.

bowener 01-19-2008 12:37 AM

hmmm spoilers above me

If you have seen the movie you know what Hud is talking about a little more I guess....? Read the bottom of that page.

Id probably make my way to save the girl though, especially that girl.

As actors, monsters tend to be tough to direct. They tend toward improvisation.
