I'm wondering who we have in mind to replace him though?
I can't see this team going into next season with three young guys at that spot.

So who will it be boys?
Pennington, Losman, Leftwich?
Matt Ryan?

I like Chris Redman, although he'll be 31 when the season starts. He has a little experience and did pretty well starting at the end of last season:

In Week 12 on Dec. 2, 2007, Redman replaced an ineffective Joey Harrington against the St. Louis Rams and completed 16 of 24 passes for 172 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, all in the fourth quarter, nearly bringing Atlanta back from a 21-3 deficit. He was named the starter on Dec. 6, and in his first start in five years completed 23 of 40 passes for a career-high 298 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in a Monday Night Football loss to the New Orleans Saints on Dec. 10. Redman showed that he could be a starter in this league when he completed 17-of-27 passes for 251 yards with a career-high four touchdowns in the Falcons' 44-41 victory over Seattle on Dec. 30, winning NFC Offensive Player of the Week, his first. While playing in six games, four of them being starts, Redman had career highs in completion percentage (59.7), passing yards (1,079), touchdowns (10) and passer rating (90.4).

It's not the cap, it's cash.

That's fine, use the cap space to get rid of the contracts this year.

Yep. It's actually a good idea.

If the ownership is only willing to pay out the bonuses every other year, we might as well absorb the cap hits in our "off" year...

Yea but where and when?

If you believe workouts and supposed rumors the Chiefs could get 4 starters with their first 4 picks..productive starters.

Who knows but if the right scenario plays out they could pick Ryan

The problem with that is I'm not sure that Ryan will be a "starter" for this team. We know how scared they are of a change like that...

True. I was just saying under the right scenario it "could" happen but the odds are highly against it.

On a side note about the cap I just read that the Bucs are now $44 million dollars under the cap which is a staggering number

I fully agree. If there's going to be a blood-letting let's slice an artery and not a drip at a time from a paper cut.

at least the dumping of Huard takes away from their ability to scream in terror and run for the known quantity, no matter how bad that known quantity is. One way or another there would be a young QB getting some playing time.

I hope Frank knows what he is talking about.

The only other QB I'd rather have than Brodie is Brady Quinn. If we could pull off a trade with the Browns and still get a stud LT in the draft that would be cool. Let those two battle it out in TC and who knows? If Brodie can beat out Brady Quinn then he is legit (only with consern of injury right?).

I like Brodie and Brady about the same so it would be cool to have Brady Quinn as possible QBOTF.

C Ya Huard, did not like ya, but thank you any ways. Bye. If not cut then fine be a good back up as third string behind Tyler Thigpen.
