Well duh, but a lot of money could mean $4 mill and it could mean $15 mill - one is reasonable and one is not. Teams assume that the players will negotiate in good faith, not just hold strong to a huge dollar amount that is practically unheard of.

This is all moot though, as I've been confident all along he'll sign right before the deadline.

we waited until 10:59 est to sign Moustakas last year... hopefully the same will occur this year...

Either that, or he goes to ASU where he May or May NOT be a bad ass... regardless hanging at ASU would be fun

Can we wait until the deadline before we torch the organization?

No shit.

FWIW, Baseball Prospectus thinks it's going to get done.

Of course. Glass's track record indicates that he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

When was the last time we didn't sign a 1st round pick?

The rumors were 7. If all of a sudden the word is 15, I'd take that as an indication that the kid wants no part of KC.

Do taking guys like Chris Lubanski just because they would sign count?

Yes, that's a legit point since the Royals have always taken the BPA, like Billy Butler.

Yeah, we've taken some cheapos lately like Moose, Gordon, Greinke, and Hochevar.

Let's not bring up the horrid pick that was Hochevar.

A true blue believer. Didn't know these models still existed.

You've cited an extensive history. Care to look at drafts before '05? And as I said, there's question about the Hochevar and Moose selections.

Not really when you're complaining that we won't sign Hosmer because of David Glass' track record, which is reeruned because we've signed every 1st round pick.
