Didn't we have someone from MIT on this board? Who was that?

I'd be interested in hearing how that is going as well as thoughts on the school.

Thinking about going to MIT? Didn't go myself(went to CMU instead), but one of my good friends went there and I know a couple professors there. If there's something you want to know about the school I can probably will find out. Boston is a pretty nice city, much better than pittsburgh. :cuss:

Same thing here. I got a degree in Business Mgmt and it was basically a waste of time in my career field. I'm sure that's the exception to the rule, but in my case I didn't have to have it.

kstater 10-20-2008 02:50 PM

Graduated

Anyone want to guess from where?

Are people at CMU as anti-social as they appear? I was accepted and took a tour of campus, but it seemed as though the majority of students were quite awkward.

However, I thought Pittsburgh was a much cooler town than it's typically given credit for. They seem to be past the typical rust belt image.

I'll be graduating in March with a Bachelor's in CS. The workload of family, career, and college have had me up studying every weeknight until 2am for the last 2 and a half years. In fact, this is my first post in close to a year... how y'all doing???

I love Pittsburg, one of the best towns in the country if you ask. There is tons to do, the people are overall friendly and it has a good job market from top to bottom.

The only negatives I can say about it are:

1. When you're in Pittsburg, you're a couple hours drive away from everything. The beach, another big city, you name it it's a good hike.

2. Be prepared to have the Pittsburg Steelers and Penguins hammered down your throat with a mallet. Serioulsly, you can't get anything else on TV no matter where you go and fans of other teams are far and in between. You're probably laughing at this as I did when I first heard it but trust me, it does get annoying unless of course your a fan.

Assuming you're from MO you shouldn't miss a beat. Pitt and KC are opposite sides of the same coin. If you like to fish and hunt you'll be challenged to find nicer area this side of the Mississippi only an hour away.

Went to Pitt for 2 1/2 years, one of the best times of my life.

LOL in short yes...There are more than the fair share of freaks. We used to say CMU was 1/3 geek, 1/3 greek and 1/3 gay(for all the artsy fartsy types, it was known for it's drama school).

I wasn't originally planning to but ended up going greek to find some semblance of a social life. Good education, but the social scene was weak. Don't get me wrong Pittsburgh isn't a bad town, just after 9 years the place got old to me. It has a real big age gap, alot of college age and alot of senior citizens but less in between. Housing was dirt cheap though so you can't complain about that.

Here we go...stillers...here we go pittsburgh's going to the super bowl!:cuss:

God damn I hate that song....ROFL...but you're right I used to get so mad on sunday's till I got the sunday ticket hahaha then things got sane.

Pitt's a nice place, much more normal college scene. Girl's definately looked hotter. Had to stay away from the scary chatam psycho chicks, but duquesne had pretty nice and normal girls.

Demonpenz 10-20-2008 03:30 PM

I was thinking about zepsinger the other day because there is an airborne song called too much. He said he could teach the solo to his or someone's grandma. My grandma still can't get the hammer on's or pull offs correct
