I think the saddest part looking at old Pioli threads is just how “Hot” he was at the time. I mean, if he wouldn’t have gone to the Chiefs, he would have gone somewhere else eventually. Chiefs luck he turns into a disaster…….

I like Cowher but no. I don't want somebody serving as Head Coach AND GM.

I would take Cowher as a head coach in a second.

Bill Cowher knows how to win...and would bring a toughness to this team that's been lacking for over a decade.

Rasputin 09-17-2012 07:20 AM

How about Cowher as GM? And he can bring in a young HC as an understudy & be a teacher at the helm. Cowher would be a guy that actually draft a QB in the first round. Cowher would make this team tough as nails and pass his knowledge of the game to the HC.

I think Cowher would be more interested as the GM than HC.

Whatever happens going forward, Hunt is going to have to get his hands on the product. He is going to have to get involved. That's kind of what I was thinking in another thread when I suggested that maybe he should hire Marty as a personal advisor. Marty cared about this organization and he can be trusted.

I'm not implying that Marty run the organization by any means. I am just say that it would be good for Clark to have a guy in his corner that kept him from being manipulated. A guy that understands the game and the business.

Hunt has to be careful of allowing the GM too much control.

Hunt is basically Pioli's puppet. I am fairly certain that Pioli is a psychopath. I have worked for one and I see similarities. He fits the profile. If that's the case, Hunt is in charge of nothing. Hopefully, Hunt will see it one day but, there is a good chance that he won't.

This is a pretty good read on workplace psychopaths if you are interested.

Marty is ****ing OLD. He has had his time, he has nothing left to prove in the NFL.

So basically you just want to let Clark pick out the next GM by himself again?

Is there another advisor that would be better? Parcells recently did it for Miami. Dan Reeves did it for Houston.

Hunt needs some help imo.

Ace Gunner 09-17-2012 07:36 AM

Neither.

Reerun_KC 09-17-2012 07:40 AM

FML, Cowher?

lets keep the retreads a coming...

I never said for Clark to pick out the next GM himself. Don't put words in peoples post when they did not say them. I said Marty is OLD. So not him.

I would be ok with Cowher being our GM and let him pick out the coaches.

Other than that I am open to plenty of other GM canadates as they become the better options for us. I don't know who they could be at the moment.

I'm sure there are better options than Cowher. Right now I don't know who they are. Clark will probably wait till the end of the season if he cans Pioli, so this discussion is going to grow over the season time.

I'd be much happy with a fresh aproach GM & Coach combo than retreads like you say. As long as they have the willingness and balls to draft a QB in the first round.
