Just when i was thinking there might be a reason for me to watch mlb this season...Nope. I'll watch the inevitable Yankee choke in the post-season and everyone will blame a-rod, but the preceding six months of New Yorker insufferability will be far more trouble than it's worth.

Would ti have been better if the Red Sox had gotten Tex? Seriously, it's nearly as silly.

Wonder if the Yankees are still in the Manny hunt. Last I heard they were thinking of 3 years at $25MM per.

Wouldnt put it past them. Then right afterwards they can go to congress and ask for a bailout. Simple.

That's crazy. I can't see them signing him now. they were only signing him if the Red Sox signed Texterra (sp?)

I'd like to see Dayton Moore's initial reaction to this type of stuff. Laughter? Kick something?

It's just like the greed on Wall Street - the guys took it too far until it blew up, and now increased regulation will put an end to the exorbitant excess.

I don't think there will ever be a Salary Cap in baseball.

Never.

Their players union is too strong.

They've never learned this. You'd think they'd realize that four championships would show you a pretty good blueprint, but instead, they keep going the USA basketball 2002 route.

Just wait for the uncapped year in the NFL.

It'll be just like this except it will be the Patriots, Giants and Cowboys doing this.

Yes, because I cheer for any team that consistently beats the Yankees.

Man, NY Yankees are going to be STACKED next year. Think if they get Man Ram too.

What is their rotation going to be?

CC Sabathia
AJ Burnett
Chien Ming-Wang
Joba Chamberlain
and won't they still have Andy Pettite?

The shicklegrubers didn't build that team, Stick Michael did. he has been brushed to the side and is now a scout. the shickelgrubers will never learn.

I never thought Tex would go to the Red Sox, he had problems with that organization at the beginning of his career and now he is joining their rival it makes sense. The Yanks just did this to make sure he didn't go to the Sox. They have cleared Giambi, Abreu, Moose, Petitte, Pudge, and Pavano. They had a lot of extra cash to spend. At the end of the off-season they will have ended up spending just a little more for this year than they did last year. I just have no idea why they traded for Swisher if they were planning on making a run for Tex.
