you have no idea what has happened

do you really think Pioli isn't aware of this and acting accordingly?

The Rooney rule doesn't have to be followed. There might be a fine involved, but it's not required like a law. It's more of a guide line.

Again, no one has any idea if interviewing Herm for the chance to keep his current job counts for the Rooney Rule.

Worst case, we could say F it and pay the damn fine. This is not a sticking point.

Just don't understand if Pioli is for sure hiring someone why he won't fire Herm already

And how many GM interviews did we know about?

pioli reinterviewed herm.

MagicHef 01-22-2009 09:39 AM

They could have "interviewed" Herm, or they could just choose to pay the fine. 2 years ago, the Lions didn't interview a minority candidate, and paid $200,000.

Chiefs GM Scott Pioli's meetings with current coach Herm Edwards will not satisfy the Rooney Rule, according to NFL.com's Adam Schefter.

There is one other team out there that could land his Dad, but KC is closer to Denver and Shanahan would like to be as close to Colorado as possible. Anyway, take it for what it's worth.

The part that bothers me is the, one other team that might land him. The only other team left is Oakland?

There's a guy on one of the Broncos' forums telling this as well. He's getting blasted by the Donk fans who say there's no way that Shanahan would ever go to K.C.
Here's his post:
Shanahan Accepts Kansas City Chiefs HC position!!!!!!
I know some people in some high areas in denver with the denver broncos. Shanahan told a friend that he has accepted the head coaching position with the Kansas City Chiefs!!! Expect an announcement in about 48 hrs. I told myself i would be a pt fan of his new team but not anymore!
