Probably through training camp.

I guess I would have liked to see how well Merritt could block. Would be nice to have a Jason Dunn part deux.

Yea, we can't go through the off-season without at least having a few players there. I'm positive we are looking to replace Croyle, but we have nothing to lose by at least giving him one more shot. Croyle might hang on to being our number 3 QB.

I wonder how much more cap space the 4 of them will make?

Kansas City Chiefs, as expected, have parted ways with veteran cornerback Patrick Surtain.

The move, as reported by Adam Schefter of NFL Network, frees up $6.18 million in cap space.

Next up could be linebacker Donnie Edwards; cutting him would create $4.5 million in 2009 cap room.

Given the team’s existing cap surplus, new G.M. Scott Pioli will have plenty of money to spend, if he so chooses, when free agency launches.

there is 2 of them.....that should put us close to $50 mil under right?

Since I'm sure people will be lining up to rip into Huard, let me be the first not to.

Huard was a terrific back-up. He shouldn't have been a starter. And if he had a good offensive line, I think he could have been a pretty effective QB.

I wish him nothing but the best. He was the definition of class when Trent Green came back. He never once complained when Brodie took his job. From what I know, he never hesitated to help a young QB out.

He deserves to be cut, but I appreciate his contribution to the Chiefs. I don't feel that same way about Surtain.

What? I'm glad that Hutard is gone. I've never seen one guy go out multiple times....throw an INT for a TD and then be injured so he didn't have to play. Good ****ing riddance.

Huard????

ON NO! WE'RE DOOOOMED!!!!

blueballs 02-24-2009 05:59 PM

Huard should have retired a year earlier
but was handsomely paid -fair game

BigChiefFan 02-24-2009 05:59 PM

Huard should have NEVER been penciled as the starter. NEVER.

I found this tidbit from USA Today...

Also granted is the fact Huard is paid well for his services. He signed a three-year contract in 2007 that will average $2.5 million per season.

blueballs 02-24-2009 06:02 PM

Huard in KC won't catch near the flak
Favre in NY will
and rightfully so
