He struck me as a guy who tackled well and so badly wanted to get a big hit that he was over aggressive. I just don't see a whole lot of upside either because he's a guy who is physically maxed out and has more or less worked into what he as as opposed to be a top notch athlete.

I think he'll be a good special teams player but I don't think he's athletic enough to be a good starter on the NFL level, like Scott McKilop same kinda deal.

Zach Follet @ draftcountdown

Weaknesses:
Just average size and bulk...Stiff and not a great athlete...Doesn't play real fast...Has some health and durability concerns...Sub par change of direction skills...Too aggressive at times...Lacks fluid hips...A liability in coverage...Marginal ball skills...Struggles in space ... Limited upside.

Come up with that all by yourself did ya?

Sorry I will always prefer speed and natural athleticism to guys who work hard but aren't naturally gifted.

So you hate Vrabel...got it.

Anyone who ever watched more than a highlight vid could tell he wasn't overly athletic...and teams pick on him in the passing game.

I really don't understand the obsession with hard workers, if the guy works hard thats nice but generally they do need you know talent.

He's an explosive hitter and makes plays. He's more than a hard worker. He's not Maslowski.

I have to say I like his motor and i think he has NFL skills. Aaron Curry's highlight reel should look so good. :)

Follet is a player. He is not the same level of player as say, Scott Fujita, also from Cal, but he could be a killer on special teams for someone and might develop into a situational player given his intensity and instincts. I like both him and Mortty Ivy from WVU as a later round LB pick for the Chiefs. They both play the same position and have the same skill sets. Intense with a nose for the ball and can be spot fillers at any linebacker position along with good special teams potential.

The Kansas City Chiefs have showed tremendous interest in ex-Ball State star Darius Hill. Their offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach have worked out the pass-catching tight end.

I think he is from Blue Springs.

The Chiefs did supposedly talk to Nate Davis around combine time. Is it possible they were just fishing for information about Darius Hill from his QB?

So either we've talked to no one that is worth the #3 pick or they aren't saying anything about it. The latter makes more sense.

Yeah they forgot to announce it for the fans..........

Nice DV thought!

If we got Follett what position would he play? ILB or OLB? He seems to have the typical size of an ILB at 6'1" 240lbs.

Does Talking to them Mean Anything?

Does anyone have any information about how often the Pats actually talked to the guys they were looking at drafting?

Chiefnj2 04-15-2009 08:05 AM

Teams will often interview players that other teams in their conference are likely to draft to find out things about them.
