Considering all the money he's paying these players, it seems to me that the least they can do is shut their burrito holes and focus on learning the system and making plays when their number is called. Even if TG is traded, he only has short odds that he'll go to a franchise that will find their way to the Super Bowl. That's why they play the games.

I'm weary of this drama.

FAX

Pretty much sums up my thoughts on the subject.

And what's this whole "he's got 1 or 2 more years left" crap? I've never seen/heard anything about him showing up to a team activity out of shape and he's still very productive. I'm willing to bet he could play 3, maybe even 4 more seasons if he wants to. By that time, we should hopefully be competing for playoff spots & whatnot.

Hope he stays ...

Sorry Tony. We have a young quarterback. You can't leave now.

Love your work, Tony, but seriously, shut the **** up already. You're a future hall of famer, a multi-millionaire and will absolutely get a job as an analyst when you retire. Stop acting like you're a leper begging for change.

This.

"...a person close to the Pro Bowl tight end told The Associated Press on Tuesday."

Sorry, but this is nothing close to the Cutler saga. This team is going to need TG next season and Mr. Hunt has spoken. Story over.

I thought you believed in Thigpen, Tony? Huh?? ****in' Prima donna.

That's Tony saying, "Off the record..."

Just wait, "a asshole" will be along shortly to explain why he's worth a late 1st/early 2nd. And if you have the urge to agree with my previous statement, save yourself the hassle and don't.

I'll bet both the Eagles and Giants wish they'd pulled the trigger on that deal last season, though.

Eh, if it was unprecedented I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but it seems like we have a Tony drama once or twice a year. I sometimes think he's wanted out of KC ever since he was drafted.

Hammock Parties 03-24-2009 10:21 PM

Tony probably went a whole week without sex or something.

It's a tough spot.

If you really have a legit shot at the SB, you have to pull out all the stops. But if my team gave up a high draft pick for an old player whose level of play could realistically fall off a cliff tomorrow (don't think it will with Gonzo, just saying) I would be beyond pissed.

And we're not talking about an old QB or dominant pass rusher; we're talking about a TE. Aside from KC fans, saying 1st rounder for a 30-something guy who plays an ancillary position will cause people to look twice.

Sounds like TG and BW are working from the same playbook then. I suspect Mr. Hunt's comments are final. Unless someone makes an offer that can't be refused.

He should just buy October another ring, and get over it.

RippedmyFlesh 03-24-2009 10:23 PM

Trade him to the giants for a pass rusher..they have extras

I agree. But Gonzalez would have immediately contributed and could have well put either one of them over the hump. And he is, at the moment, at least, at the top of his game and healthy. It is reasonable to assume he's got at least one good year left in him, so they would have had that plus the end of last season.

If it works, the GM is a hero. But even if it doesn't, I think it would have been an acceptable risk.

Now, with another year gone? Perhaps not.
