The same people who will now rip Pioli for the 36 million he gave Cassel would have no problem if they gave Sanchez 70 million. Cassel has an NFL track record Stafford doesn't have and Stafford is getting a ridicuous contract. Cassel just agreed to commit to KC for 6 years. Well done.

Well, if its just 36 mil with small guarantees, that would be a tradable contract.

They hitched their wagon to Cassel this will pretty much be the decision that makes or breaks us.

I honestly didn't see this coming. Hmmm, why would they show their hand this close to the draft. Maybe I'm nuts but it doesn't make any sense. Well, unless they have already traded out of the 3rd spot. That or they know St Louis is trading there pick Help me understand this

I figured it'd been done for a while but not released so as to help trade bait.

My only logical conclusion is that we've traded #3. Otherwise, it makes no sense because it devalues us taking Sanchez to spite teams.

absolutely stupid to do this before the draft.

And this is absolutely no different than if they took Sanchez at 3 and he flamed out.

I doubt any other teams seriously thought we could draft Sanchez and hold onto him. That was message board fantasy.

Chiefs might have also used the threat of picking Sanchez to get a good deal with Cassel.

Ok there are alot of things you can defend...no one really thinks he got 36 guaranteed so lets not try to defend the absurdity of the notion.

Nightfyre 04-25-2009 12:26 PM

Still also nothing breaking on ESPN....

You guys should just draft an OL

I'd rather have Crabtree.

We can't have already traded the pick because they don't know who is gonna be there at #3 yet. What if the player they want gets taken at #2.

I repeat, it's just stupid to let this info out right now.
