Red Beans 04-29-2009 06:20 AM

His physical skills border on the reeruned!

I think this team will be much different. Think about it. We have two new starting linebackers, our top backup (Beisel) is new.

Chiefs have two new defensive linemen. Plus, the biggest part of it all will be experience. Dorsey, Flowers and Carr, all legitamite starters last year, will be much better.

There are still many questions, but tons of reasons for optimism too.

HEY... the Chiefs IMPROVED over the last season... they sucked less at the end of the season than they sucked at the beginning... still sucked.... but less.

I know people don't like the thought of going 8-8, but I learned my lesson on Saturday - we DO NOT WANT to ever pick in the Top 5 again.

I have this team going 7-9. I think a change in attitude and better coaching, along with the subtle talent upgrades we've made, are good for 4-5 more wins. I think we NEED to win at least 6 games to avoid the shitty scenario we had this year.

Unless we need a Franchise QB or a LT. Which we don't.

I'd like to think the Chiefs can win 7 games next year, but the schedule is just brutal, and we're going to be implementing all new offensive and defensive schemes with a totally new staff and a host of new players. I'm going to stay cautiously optomistic, and go with 5-11, hoping for 7-9.

He's a hard worker and a smart player, but that will only take you so far. I said it the minute they drafted Washington - there's one thing on his bio that stands out against the other guys on the roster.

He's a legitimate 6' tall.

I'm a little bit concerned that the new GM and coaching staff have some "things" in their profile that they're going to stick to regardless of whether or not they make much sense.

Best case scenario, these guys win 6 games.

But if I were predicting right now, I'd say 4 wins.

We had needs at pretty much every position this last draft and it was still a problem. It's no longer about need - the salaries are so out of control that it's just not worth it.

I don't put in any stock in schedules anymore. Every year there's a half dozen or more teams that dramatically underperform or overperform compared to expectations.

He already jumps higher than Larry Fitz (from USA Today in 2005), Larry had a vert of 35.5".... I can't believe that's right though especially with this guy having a 45" vert... either way I'm excited to see what he can do.
He could certainly contend for a starting spot with athletic ability like that.

Think he was a bit of an under-producer at OSU...didn't really live up to expectations.
Yea he was, he lived in Malcolm Jenkins shadow. Donald is a ridiculous athlete, and should definetely bump Carr out of his spot. He is a little unpolished but has all the tools necessary to be a very good player in the NFL.

Beisel was here once and he sucked. I cant see how people think he's going to do any better this time around.

Not when you have a weak top 1st rd which is what I've been saying all along.

We needed to trade down and didn't because others didn't think anyone was really worth #3 money.

There wasn't a Mario Williams, Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, anyone like that in this seasons draft. I mean Aaron Curry was listed as the best draft prospect for crying out loud.
