He's not the only one who won't attend. Reasons why other Pittsburgh Steelers decided not to visit the White House:
Casey Hampton: Washington is obviously biased toward the Redskins.
Ben Roethlisberger: Wanted to go, but called for directions and Biden inadvertently sent him to Area 51's alien technology center.
Charlie Batch: Thought he was allowed to attend only if Roethlisberger got hurt.
Heath Miller: He heard that Obama recently signed a Bill, and has no interest in free agency.
Hines Ward: Disapproves of bicameral legislatures unless they're hot chicks.
Ike Taylor: Heard that there were no corners in the Oval Office, thought he wasn't allowed in.
James Farrier: The White House is located on Pennsylvania Avenue and he has no interest in going to Pennsylvania.
Jeff Reed: Really kind of waiting until the Obama daughters are old enough to go clubbing.
Justin Hartwig: Strong opponent of Bush and has no interest in meeting him.
Lawrence Timmons: Thought he was a Cardinal.
Santonio Holmes: Figured he would just drop by later in the offseason when he wasn't busy, because hey, he's Santonio Holmes.
Troy Polamalu: Angry about president snubbing the Pro Bowl winning team.
