Saying any qb on our roster right now has a 0% chance.... is just dumb.

For all we know, our streak of signicant personel losses on opening day might continue losing Cassel for significant time, Thigpen underperforms and Croyle is given another shot and goes injury free for five years, as Trent did after suffering injury after injury elewhere. Not saying I am wishig that,Im not, but it isnt out of the realm of "Chiefdom" either.

Barry just sees it as he wants to and that is by ignoring anything negative about the team. He will get better and his opinion will be taken better once he accepts negative views asxwell as positive ones and forms a unique opinion from the most personally convincing of both. Or maybe he is genuinly happy being a homer and that is his way of enjoying his role as a fan.

I supported Croyle too. Not to the extent he does/did, but I did support him. I have wanted a QB we drafted to succeed since I was two! Looks like I will still be wanting.

My brothers son, 3 year old Troy, met Brodie at camp and got his auto on ffn and evertime the Chiefs are on offense he stares at the screen pumping his fist shouting "go Brodie, go Brodie!" or "good job Brodie" and runs around the room asking people if they saw Brodie.

I havent had the heart to tell the little guy that the guy playing for the Chiefs isnt Brodie anymore...

Croyle could turn out like Trent Green, injury after injury till he lands in the right situation and then goes on a good run of a few productive and healthy years.

Time will tell.

Personally, I think he will play in a regular season game again, for another team in a couple years, but will get hurt on the first real hit again.

too bad...

Don't get me wrong. I liked Croyle. He was the first real shot I thought we had at getting a stud save past their prime/wrong situation (see montana/gan_non). The problem, imo, is croyles bones aren't bones they are toothpicks.

Brodie needs to toughen up, and if people would JUST READ MY POSTS, they would realize that even I realize, you gotta be tough to play in the NFL.

How many starts did Troy Aikman lose before he started to do well? Look that shit up, and get back to me.

What kind of chance to people really think Brodie got last year? You think that was fair?????

Whatever

Brodie has had four or five chances man, dont you see that?

You shouldnt compare, even vaguely, underachievers with overachievers. Its bad business.

He has missed more time to injury in three years than he has been available for...well almost.

Troy Aikmen won a superbowl with a team that was total crap when he was drafted and he did so in his third yesr iirc.

Its not just that he isnt very tough (I can remember the turtle tuck a few times) its that he doesnt have a body that can withstand NFL hits. Even when healthy, he didnt have good touch. He threw a swing pass as hard as a deep ball often. He really did. I like him but I can say that cause its the truth.

Croyles only chance is to go to a team with a very good offensive line***coughcough**Denver**coughcough and never get touched and have weapons at his disposal as well as a good runing game or a similar team.

He should just focus on learning an offense completely from the sideline for a couple more years and lift alot of weights and run alot to strengthen his ligaments. He will learn alot from Cassel if he makes the team.

He definatly has a massive up hill battle ahead.

I don't think there's any hope for him here. It's 1-2 cassell-thigpen and I don't think that'll help the chem any if he's 3.

Farzin 07-08-2009 05:29 AM

Too many excuses for Croyle. Thigpen had the same level of talent, same o-line, same receivers (plus Bradley, but it's not much of a difference.) Thigpen still went out there and found some success while Croyle spent his season meeting with his trainer.

As far as Plax, he's not suspended YET. Yes Harrison is old and Porter is a Raider. Big deal. Look at Marcus Allen. If any of those three are available for the 2009 season, why pass up on that opportunity? I think the Chiefs will improve by a couple games (it's hard to not improve from a 2 win record) but the Chiefs need help with their receivers.

On a final note Barry, I respect all opinions as long as they are not biased. How old are you? Twice my age? I've accomplished quite a lot in my life in broadcasting before graduating high school. I've worked hard to get to where I'm at now :). Your twice my age and you called me put sending me the dumbest email ever telling me the Chiefs will shock the world and you went crying to everyone on the WPI boards complaining that Brian Baldinger didn't have many positive thoughts on KC heading into the 08 season. I don't have a problem with die hard fans. I'm one myself, but at the same time, I like to be a realist :)

There you go again, putting words into my mouth. PLUS apparently you haven't gotten over the whiplash from last year, ...sigh.....and Im not talking about Croyle anymore. Well talk about him in camp.

Im 36 years old Farzin. If that makes me twice your age, than you would be 18 years old. I doubt you are that young, and where did my age become the argument? Or Where was your schooling, and hard work ever an issue?

That wasn't the dumbest email you ever got, and I officially made my apologies about it. I had a bad week that week last year, and I was TIRED OF LISTENING TO SO CALLED CHIEF FANS TALK SHIT ABOUT THEIR OWN TEAM, WHICH YOU HAVE A VEY BAD HABIT OF DOING!! Maybe ask some of your followers on that one. I'm not alone. You constantly do it. Such a Know it all like the rest of us. You are NO LESS GUILTY.

And by the way, THE CHIEFS CAME TWO YARDS, 4 plays, and multiple dropped passes by Dwayne Bowe, FROM SHOCKING THE WORLD in FoXboro last season in week one. WATCH THE TAPE. Remember that FArzin, because I was THAT CLOSE to being right about that football game. AND THAT FOOTBALL GAME was what I was talking about in the email I sent to you last year. They almost did it. With Herm, and Brodie for the first part of the game.

My fundamental problem with your podcast last year, and BALDINGER, was that HE IS NOT AN EXPERT ON CHIEFS AFFAIRS. You Know it, and so does everyone else. I dont care what he was right about last year.

PLAX WILL be suspended. Even YOU have to know that? Cmon? Your calling me brainless and asking for a player that shoots himself in the leg? Sounds like a great leader in the locker room too. :banghead:

How do address this nonsense??....

OMG...what do I even say.....

First, Marcus Allen is the only EX Raider I have ever liked. I'm not alone, so BAD EXAMPLE. YOU are MISSING THE POINT Mr. EXPERT.

We have plenty of receivers right now. PLENTY. A small FLAT BED of them to duke it out in camp. ( which I will be at for a week, so if you care to discuss this in length, feel free to come hang out with the cool guys )

As far as your comment about how the CHIEFS will only improve by a couple of games, and they need receivers is just like I said.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAA SHEEP BAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I will join NO SUCH FLOCK of copycats.

FARZIN, for the last time, JUST LIKE I WAS SAYING LAST YEAR....

THIS.......is your team. Why not try and pump CHIEF fans up instead of DEFLATING them all the time. ( which you do SO WELL )

I have worked hard too, to get people to understand what it is that I do with BarrysKOOLAID. You are yet another example, of readers that completely misunderstand me. When my podcast starts, I will HOLD NOTHING back. Write that down. Think twice before you set fire to a sleeping giant.

Exactly, which is why I started serving the Koolaid in the first place. Chiefsnation had their heads down. I make no apologies for what I do.

You are already a WINNER for being a CHIEFS fan.

It's a professional sports team. It has no effect whatever on my life if they win or lose.

Almost doesn't cut it. Plus, I don't know what Brodie did in that game. Huard was the one that got us in the endzone.

Did I not answer this? Because I'm a realist. It's hard to not "DEFALTE" this team when they've only won six games in the past two years. If I have a positive or negative opinion, I'll say it and back it up with reasons. I'm not saying I'm always right. No one is, but I'll always have my reasons and back them up for whatever I say. Recently I've been a bit excited for KC mainly because of the way this division is shaped.

Good. That's a start. You should be, and this team is better than everyone thinks. All I'm saying, is that Chief fans want to talk about how they can win. Not how they can lose. Plenty of writers of VERY guilty, and I dont hold you in common with them. I just call shenanigans when I see them. Im sorry.

And HUARD was AWFUL in that game..?????

No, they didn't get in the endzone. The lost by ONE SCORE... Devard Darling got ran down on the two yard line. And if you knew what you were talking about, you would know that Brodie was a having a great game before he went down ( FOR THE THIRD TIME in that game ) He took a beating, yet still had pretty good numbers. ( which would have been better, if DBowe hadn't dropped 3 critical passes, one that was a touch ) Especially considering that kindergarden playbook they were running.

They still lost. I honestly hate to review a game that occured nearly a year ago, but for just for the heck of it, I'll just point this out since your telling me I have no idea what I'm talking about..

Passing CP/AT YDS TD INT
D. Huard 8/12 118 1 1
B. Croyle 11/19 88 0 0

Huard had less snaps and less playing time, yet he got this team to the endzone and in the redzone for an opportunity. He also had more yards. He threw a pretty bad interception. Other than that, he got the Chiefs a touchdown and got them to the redzone on the final drive while Croyle only helped the Chiefs get a field goal.
