Well, in this scenario we would be spending a draft choice next year on him.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think he is/can be a very good receiver? It's not as if Philly's receivers have been great in years past. That's why they spent first and second round picks on them in the last two drafts.

He's big, strong and physical. At 6'4, 220 pounds he'd cause all kinds of matchup problems. When they've thrown the ball his way, he's responded.

I also tend to believe that a coach like Todd Haley would really challenge the guy and make him improve. He and Bowe in the Red Zone could be a great combo.

That being said, I wouldn't give up much. Next year's 7th and at most, next year's 6th. You're right - there's a good chance he'll be cut but I'm not sure he makes it past either team.

But in my mind, there's no doubt his addition would improve this receiving corp.

He's certainly better than Bradley.

Bring him in for a look in the showers where they can show him ropes and check his tank!

I agree with what Baskett would add. He is better than Ruvel Martin who i have mentioned a few times as maybe a poor man's baskett.

Next years 7 goes to miami when we traded back into the 7th this year and took O'Connell. And although it is just listed as undisclosed 2010 pick for Alleman and Ndukwe i think someone said it's next years 6, though i am not sure on that to be exact.

I think if they release anyone, it'll be Reggie Brown over Baskett... They'd just rather trade Baskett and get a pick in return...

Shawn Andrews was placed on the IR list to clear space for Garcia. Baskett stays with Philly for now. And I wonder what that means for Runyon as well.

To make sure that Detroit or St. Louis doesn't claim him.

I'm surprised that Philly would release him before Reggie Brown because I think that Baskett is going to be quite a player.

It's not unusual for a late round receiver to take time to bloom.

I say we give up a 5th for both of them.

Dwayne Bowe
Mark Bradley
Bobby Wade
Hank Baskett
Reggie Brown

Justice Impresses At RT In Opener
http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/ne...story_id=18732

Winston Justice didn't stand out in his first game in the starting lineup as a right tackle for the Eagles, and that's just about the best compliment you can pay to an offensive lineman.

Justice performed very well filling in for the injured Shawn Andrews, and the right tackle is making a case to be a fixture at the position going forward.

However, Justice didn't do enough to fully impress his toughest critic - himself.

"No," Justice said when asked if he was happy with his performance. "I think I have a lot to improve on. I think, as a competitor, any job you do is not good enough. God willing, I get a lot more chances like this.

"It was a good first step. We still have a long season to go, but we came up with the win, and we feel good about the performance."

Justice faced off against noted Panthers' defensive end Julius Peppers several times and held his own. Most of the time, Justice was left one-on-one with whomever was lined up at left defensive end.

"I had a couple of chips a couple times, but this is the Eagles," Justice said, "they're going to make you block one-on-one. It's a tough situation, but we really prepare for it, me and Juan (Castillo, offensive line coach). This is a good stepping stone and I need to improve, the whole offensive line needs to get better."

If Justice is his own toughest critic, then coach Castillo is next in line.

"Nothing really yet," Justice said, when asked if he'd heard feedback from Castillo yet. "But he's going to say some stuff, there's no rush on that. I spend more time with Juan than I do with my wife.

"My goal is to be a great offensive tackle, and this is just the first step to greatness, god willing."

With Donovan McNabb's status for next week up in the air because of the fractured rib the quarterback suffered on a touchdown run in the third quarter, backup quarterback Kevin Kolb needs to be ready to play in week 2. Having been moved up from a backup role to a starting spot recently himself, Justice knows what kind of position Kolb is in.

"I think (Kolb)'s thinking about the next game," Justice said. "I don't think he's thinking about redemption, just like I wasn't thinking about redemption.

"The coaching staff makes a point to let everyone know that if someone goes down, you need to step up. I think everyone views themselves as (worthy of) playing the whole game, even if they're not."

Laz,

I saw that, but putting Andrews on IR still leaves them one roster spot light on the O-line from where they were.
