If Sanchez got hurt behind this line Haley's lawn would be covered in fan poo.

Don't want to hijack a thread, but what is your take on Barkley after 3 starts? Someone to keep an eye on for future reference?

At this point in time, yes.

That seems fair. The Chiefs' line does look vaguely like the football equivalent of the Maginot Line. But, I ask you: do you not feel somewhat remiss that you can't judge that in reality? You don't KNOW that Sanchez wouldn't do better back there than Cassel, right?

Any talented QB playing in a pro style offense is worth looking at.

Pioli Zombie 09-28-2009 09:30 PM

How do all think Sanchez would be doing with the Chiefs. Croyle. Thigpen. Cassel. Sanchez. Brady. Manning. This offensive line sucks so bad it wouldn't make one bit of difference. Sanchez throws for 200 yards on a team with some talent and is hailed as Johnny Unitas. Matt Cassel had back to back 400 yard games last year. You think the surrounding talent has some bearing on what's going on right now with the 2 QBs?

And despite my CP name I'm a little baffled at the lack of movement by the GM regarding the OL and I'm extemely unimpressed with Haley so far. Cassel has done nothing to erase what I watched all last year from him, he has not been given a chance.

Do you like what you see out of him yet?

Shouldn't Cassel be better right now since he's not a rookie and is 5 years older?

I remember that argument for Cassel being he could hit the ground running and he's not a rookie etc etc...

So Sanchez has more upside and is playing better early, so what exactly is the positive Cassel has over him he once played for New England?

I would probably incline to say "no".

Better question: Will he be a better QB in 3 years (when we actually have an O-line) at age 24 than Cassel will be at age 30?

Final question: Could we have gotten a 5 technique that is the rough equivalent of Tyson Jackson at the beginning of the 2nd and paid a metric !@#$ton less for him?

We're paying a hell of a lot more for Cassel/Jackson than we would've paid for Sanchez/2nd best 5 technique and getting less production and far less upside for our efforts.

It was a cluster!@#$ of monumental proportions for Saint Pioli.

Well yea, he's a true freshman starting and succeeding at SC, that's impressive in it's own right.

Mark Sanchez is making good decisions, and making plays on third down and long situtions.

You dumb****s who can't recognize that simply don't want to admit that you are dumb****s.

Mecca 09-28-2009 09:33 PM

Here you go...Barkley hangs in the pocket and takes the hit to make his throw...I don't even see Cassel do this to be frank...

I just haven't seen him much. I did see his last drive against OSU... my son had a pee wee league game that night and I missed the game up to that point... and I was pretty impressed with his poise.
