Then there'll be alot of big controversy on the BCS if a one loss team finish higher than a 0 loss team, considering that 0 loss team is currently ranked above the 1 loss team.

Sorry, no dice.

Wrong.

The NCAA has no such rule; any school may paint its field any color other than green if it wishes. Though painting the end zones is common, and schools have wide latitude in how to do so.

If Iowa or South Florida run the table do they fall short behind a 1 loss SEC or BIG 12 team?

That is what I want to see happen. I don't think there will be a huge uproar if Boise doesn't get in undefeated, but there would be for these guys.

Also Division II University of New Haven became the second NCAA institution to install and compete on blue turf for the 2009 season.

ALSO a NCAA member.

Yea if USC goes into Oregon and beats the team that is Boise's 1 quality win they are going to jump them...

Ohio State played for the title a couple years ago with 2 losses when teams like Boise had 1 or none I don't recall but it was less.

You better call someone then because they talk about that everytime Boise is on TV that no other team can have it.

That's because as I mentioned, OSU was ranked high enough to take on 2 losses, considering Boise was either not ranked or was ranked too low to be taken seriously.

I have. There is no rule for it.

Mecca 10-04-2009 08:43 PM

You know if given the choice they are not going to vote for a Florida/Boise title game.

If it's a case of 3 or 4 or whatever, that's one thing... but I don't think they'll let BSU into the NC game. That goes against the whole reason for the BCS.

It's posts like this that make the ignore feature confusing sometimes.

It's situations like this really makes me want to have a playoff system. I mean, it's doing wonderfully well in NCAA I-AA and lower levels. Why would it be any different here?

And if they're concerned about the $ issue, in fact, I would tend to believe that the NCAA or the teams/TV contracts would make MORE money this way.

I've never seen a good reason against it. Keep the bowls, keep the BCS sites, whatever.... add a couple of games to the season and make that much more money. The terribly overrated yet somehow entitled conferences like the Big 10 could still get their one team in if they wanted to keep those requirements (not that I think they should, but it's the only way a playoff would ever happen, so fine), and arguing over #8 or 9 is far less dramatic since you'll always be talking about 1 or 2 loss teams by that point.

It makes far too much sense.

The story I heard was that ducks thought it was a lake when it was green and would land on it and shit all over it. So they made it blue to solve that problem. Don't know if it's true.

Mecca 10-04-2009 08:52 PM

Didn't the Big 10 and the Rose Bowl say if there was a playoff they'd basically not participate or something reeruned like that?
