I couldn't care less about the timing of a move in year one...the season was over before it began...maybe we lost a game or two we should have won because the offense wasn't installed...so what?

It's about making the right move for the long term. Some of you can't see the forest for the trees.

So we are going 0 and 16?

We keep on hashing the same move over and over. Gailey was not the answer, so why keep him around. It would make no sense for Haley to keep him knowing he has no confidence in the system. This is the same argument that kept Grob in place for so long.

Common ****ing sense would dictate otherwise.

He made a horrid team of castoffs and backups an offense. Not a great one or a dominant one but something that could score enough to win.

Haley has an entire offseason of draft picks, trades (hold on, WE'RE NOT DONE YET!1!) and free agents to change his team. Have we really done better on offense? And just exactly WTF did Chan do to get fired?

Outside of a horrible preseason I can't think of anything...

That's a move that is made in January or February not August.

But that was Clark's fault for wanting to keep Chan as OC, right GoChiefs? :cuss:

Hate to agree with the meat-peeker but he's right.

LJ has played great for us this year in both aspects of the passing game as well as the running game.

Played great? He's averaging 2.6 ypc this year. That is out of the league bad. The reason he slams into the line so often is that he lacks the speed to bounce it outside like most RB's do. The meatpeeker is FOS once again.

Be fair...this goes back much further than Herm.

From Gunther on, the Big Picture plan for this team has been 3rd string jerkwater bullshit...we didnt arrive at this point in Herms few years.

I love this oft-repeated line. Just bounce it outside! Instant yards!

You people act like defenders aren't playing the outside gaps. I suppose you all think we have beastly tackles who have those edges sealed off every play, too.

Even fast running backs don't bounce it outside every time the middle is sealed up...that's because it's a good way to get taken down for a loss instead of picking up a yard or two.

You know, I'm guilty of over evaluating. But seriously, everybody is wearied with the three years of "rebuilding" with Herm that was a debuilding. We're just going to have to deal with this process. Everybody was chanting the praises of change and preparing for some rough. Now, they're freaking over what we knew was coming. It is what it is. we just have to wait and see. period. we go 0-16 he's out. Other than that, let's give it some time. 10 games into the season, it will still be early for this regime.

KCDC 10-13-2009 08:25 PM

We thought we got the better HC than Denver. McDaniels inherited a mediocre team, screwed around with it and is still 5-0 after beating the Cowboys and Pats. We thought Denver would be like 1-4, even with their weak schedule. Instead, they are 5-0.

Our Boy Wonder inherits a crappy team, granted, but he can't even beat the Faiders, the laughing stock of the NFL. I wasn't expecting greatness this season, especially with the tough part of the schedule in the opening weeks, but I have to wonder whether Gailey could have done worse. The LJ runs up the middle, not even following the FB, were predictible and pathetic. The trick plays were the only thing that have permitted me any hope for Haley's offensive accumen. He'll look better against the Raiders the second time, and we'll beat the Browns probably. We might even beat the Redskins this week, as their O-line is in even worse shape than ours. Hell, I could get pressure on Campbell with their line and I'm over 50 years old.

True. But do not belittle Herm's contrubitions to this mess. He had a lot to do with it.

so now we are looking at another 2-3 years? to rebuild
