Sorry, maybe I'm wrong. I haven't tested this theory in person. But I feel that if a girl is looking for an internet boyfriend, wtf? I have yet to go to a bar and see just about ANY girl have a problem finding some poor drunken shlub that isn't drunk enough to give it a try. I guess girls are probably looking for more than that, so POSSIBLY there are a few women actually looking for a serious date online. I would take any and all photos with a grain of salt though.

As to the girls looking for internet boyfriends. They are not looking for marriage, they are looking for a shy, piece of ass that won't cost them 80$ worth of drinks to take home.

Go the the bar, have a good time. Actually talk to people and you will have a far better time than waiting around for internet dating sites to work. Just my $.02.

Most of the girls I have met have looked better than their photos. Only one really looked worse. And it was a trainwreck.

Then keep after it. I guess I have a false opinion of online dating. I am dating an absolutely awesome girl right now, but as far as the dating scene goes in general... it typically sucks. I always figured if the ugly bitches I see at the bars and in class get dates and men, then the girls on the internet must be sort of like that naked dude with all the ammo, guns, and guitar hero controllers.

Surprisingly there are a LOT of hot girls on these sites.

No sympathy. Leaving aside the whole internet girlfriend thing, if you ARE going to do it, then this is 2009. Before you drop hundreds of dollars on a trip, ask her to get a cheapo $20-30 cam from Best Buy, and have your internet chatting via video stream for a few weeks on stickam or something.

Next time I'm in a rut I may choose to believe you on this. I still find it hard to believe though...

If you have tried this, and met decent looking and acting women on these sites, did they seem desperate and quick to try and "lock" down a relationship? Otherwise I cannot figure out why decent looking women would need to pay money to meet guys. In my experience it is difficult to meet a decent woman, but the women have no trouble meeting candidates and weed through us like we amount to little more than pawns on a chess board.

Again, I've met some great girls and am currently dating one who would land at or near the top of that heap, but it's not easy out there right now. I just have never thought internet dating a feasible option. It's the fricken interwebs...
