I understand this all too well. If anyone had told me what I had to look forward to after Lenny retired I'd never have believed it.

This allows me to draft Berry to have a complete starting defensive backfield, Suh to put next to Dorsey and Gilberry on the D-Line (4-3) or Clausen and have Croyle start at least the first 8 games, if not the entire season.

I'd have my bookend tackles in Albert & Richardson and my two best playmakers in Charles & Bowe. With a solid draft and a few free agent acquisitions, I could have this team competing in under two years.

So you think Gilberry has more upside than Jackson? I agree with you about switching back to the 4-3. And how are you going to draft Berry and Suh?

Those are the ten players I'd chose to build around.

IF Suh were available at my draft spot, I'd have the beginnings of a D-line that includes Gilberry, Dorsey & Suh. That's pretty damn good. I'm higher on Gilberry because Jackson is only a two down player and I think that Gilberry could have a serious impact in a 4-3 defense.

IF Suh wasn't available, I'd choose Berry. A defensive backfield of Berry, Page, Carr and Flowers would go a long way in rebuilding my defense, especially with Gilberry & Dorsey in place.

If Suh & Berry weren't available, I'd choose Clausen. I'd have my bookend tackles in Richardson & Albert, two playmakers in Bowe & Charles and a QB in Croyle that would start at least the first eight games of the season, if not the entire season.

On a side note, I think that Kansas City Chiefs fans clearly put way too much emphasis on kickers and punters, guys who only play a few downs per game. Succop was the last player taken in the draft; Connor Barth was rookie free-agent. These guys are everywhere. Same with punters.

Guys like Dorsey, Bowe, Albert, Richardson, Charles, Page, Carr, Flowers, etc. are not guys usually found "on the street".

Kickers and punter are found every year.

11. Cassel, at this point you would have to. The guy was the epitome of terrible this year, but you have to give him at least(hopefully at most) one more year to prove himself. If he cannot, then you go QB in the first round 2011.

FTW

What in the hell has Richardson done to make you even think he could be a bookend?

And Croyle? He wouldn't last 8 games.

He played extremely well against Cleveland, a team that had eight sacks against the Steelers the previous week. He started 40 games for Clemson at left tackle and has the ideal size and strength to become a dominant right tackle. All he needs is playing time.

As to Croyle, you're speculating. The offensive line was terrible in 2006, 2007 and the beginning of 2008, before switching to the spread offense and replacing Adrian Jones with Wade Smith. Croyle never had a chance.

Against Baltimore, he had no injury issues. I'd gladly give him a chance to compete against a rookie QB, especially given that Croyle has the necessary talent and skill to become a successful NFL QB.

If possible, I'd like to keep the 22 guys off the street and cut everybody else

If he can still play at a high level. I really think we need to resign TRich for a year and let him retire as a Chief.

a 50% TRich is 10x better than Mike Cox or Castille.
