WHAP!

kcxiv 01-02-2010 10:41 PM

what a freaking knock out.

I called this about 30 seconds beforehand, Hazelett was standing far too straight up & open against a guy with his power crouching & obviously waiting to spring.

Those short kicks werent gonna hold back that explosiveness for long.

Old Dog 01-02-2010 10:43 PM

hell, I've gotten as many wrong as right tonight. If Silva doesn't win, I've got a losing record on the night for the first time I can recall

Bwana 01-02-2010 11:22 PM

Silva is a complete idiot.........wow.

Old Dog 01-02-2010 11:24 PM

I think he just ran out of gas

Old Dog 01-02-2010 11:25 PM

unless I missed something after the fight. I clicked off of the feed after the decision was announced

kcxiv 01-02-2010 11:31 PM

Silva didnt have anything else to give. He was just gased.

It's nice to see Rashad use some strategy. He hasn't used his wrestling in quite a while.

My first time viewing a UFC event and what a wild night it was. I was highly impressed with Stout and Evans.

Seemed like a better night of fights than the card looked like at first glance. Hard to watch as closely in a bar, though.

Silva should have kept pouring it on in the third, rather than playing to the crowd. He had to know he was down 2-0 and needed the KO.

Yeah, I was rooting for Rashad going into the fight (but only slightly)... started pulling for the underdog in that third round.

I completely understand wrestling, takedowns and body control, but a wrestling really isn't my favorite style to watch. It leads to Lay n' Pray much to easily. I'd rather watch a banger or a slick submission artist any day.

That's not a knock on Rashad, (He's shown he can bang when he wants to)... just a general comment.

I wonder why he was calling out Rampage and not a shot at the title. He must really hate Rampage.

We all do but you have to give Rashad credit...he has gotten by on his boxing and speed for so long that he forgot about his superior wrestling abilities that helped get him where he is. Thank Machida for helping Rashad get his head right and get back to being a balanced and more dangerous fighter by combining ALL of his skills. Rashad is a smart fighter and even though this wasn't that exciting to watch he fought a smart fight. Easy win for Rashad (for the most part).
