Not sure since she's already had surgery on it once. That's the issue right now, and that's why all the question marks. Doc said if this was the first injury to it they'd do everything they could to keep her.

Everything's just up in the air right now.

Sorry to hear about the wife. If it is preexisting they will do nothing. In fact if she did not disclose it prior to service she could be in trouble. I know from personal experience.

She disclosed the hell out of it. Going in she had 0% disability on that knee according to the orthopedic surgeons, and they looked over all that stuff during the med exams before she signed.

Good for her.

Best of luck.

Hi FMB! Sorry to hear about your wife's knee. From what you've posted here, I know that this was really important for her for personal reasons. First of all, I hope for her speedy and complete physical recovery. More importantly, I'll encourage you to support her in continuing to address what ever goal she wanted to achieve by enlisting in the reserves. Maybe there is another way to address the goal or maybe there isn't and she needs to come to peace with the situation through another way. What I do know is that 1) if this was as big a deal as you described, the issue won't go away by itself and 2) it might be a bigger issue than you two can deal with by yourselves.

Don't be afraid to go to the appropriate place to get help. It can make a world of difference, speaking from experience.

Latest update is they're doing physical therapy through the end of the week and will reassess. Mrs. FMB! says the PT doesn't seem to be helping, she just hurts all the time.

They haven't decided if they're going to do an MRI yet, but if they do there's a waiting period. Then they have to read it. Then they have to decide what to do with her. Shitty part is even if they decide to cut ties it still could be quite a while before she's back home.

This ****ing sucks.

The gov't can take months to send people home on medical hold...

Sorry to hear and hope this is not the outcome...

Well Mrs. FMB! will be headed home soon. I'm a little torn. Happy to have her come home, but sad for her because she really wanted this.

I'm sorry dude. At least it was a speedy decision though. It would've been far worse for them to drag it out for 12 weeks and then have her come home.

I hope you stick to your guns on your weight loss goals.

I'm glad she's not in limbo anymore. That sucked.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for her, but as I said before, in the long run it's probably better for you and your marriage. I hope her knee improves.

Best wishes .... knees can be such a problem. Both my knees have problems from military play time, not enough for disability but enough to keep me from doing serious work on ladders ... sucks when it just goes and you are stumbling or down :(
