Remember, Revis signed a six-year deal, while others signed a five-year deal. The six-year deal was insisted upon by the Jets.

Clearly, if Revis was in the open market and could be signed by any team -- He would he be one of the highest paid players in NFL.

Quote:

Revis is upset over the stalled contract talks, and called it an “insult” that the Jets’ offers have contained no guaranteed money. He is due to make $1 million in the fourth season of his six-year rookie deal, and wants to be the league’s highest-paid cornerback.

“You sit here and you tell guys, ‘You’re the best player in the league, you’re our No. 1 priority,’ and you’re not showing loyalty in terms of keeping your core guys here and wanting to keep them here for the future,” Revis said. “If you want to build a dynasty, you’ve got to start being loyal to some of your players who are loyal to you on the field and play the best football they can.”

I mean, for ****'s sake, the kid isn't even anywhere NEAR the cornerbacks of Chiefs past.

Kevin Ross? Nope.

Albert Lewis? No ****ing way.

James Hasty? James Hasty will beat your ****ing ass for suggesting that.

Dale Carter? He's probably drink to that, then waste your ass.

Gary Barbaro? I don't think so.

Catch my drift?

Who? What? And **** Hasty. I remember that ****. **** him.

Put him on the Packers tomorrow and watch them win the Super Bowl.

Same goes for New Orleans and probably New England, Indy or Houston.

The guy can shut down half the field.

I like him. But he hasn't played against the best consistently. He's between tier 1 and 2. If he proves that he can do what Revis is doing against #1s, then he'll quickly hop up to tier 1.

Thats like if Cassel played Cleveland almost every week, and people saying saying he's a top tier guy because he has good stats against them.

And I don't believe it was mike williams or benn that caught the td. I thought it was straighter or slaughter

He was good for us, but I remember him or Carter getting burned by that Uber-Arayan McCaffrey one time too many.

Hasty WAS a badass until he was magically transformed into a man-toy. And with just one kiss...

Jets agreed to terms with CB Darrelle Revis on a four-year, $46 million contract, including $32 million guaranteed.
He'll fly to New York, sign, and be on the field versus Baltimore next Monday night. The agreement was announced for seven years, but easily voids to four. The best news for the Jets is that they didn't have to do a one-year, "band-aid" deal that might've put them back at square one next offseason. According to the NY Daily News, Revis stayed in shape during his holdout, working out with Ty Law in South Florida. Upgrade New York's fantasy defense, and shy away from Anquan Boldin in Week 1. He's got a hot date with Revis Island.

Ok, I was expecting bigger numbers than that...

Revis contract vs Eric Berry's

I think the JETS organization did well here. To put it in perspective:

Revis signed: 4 year/$46 million ($32 million guaranteed)
Eric signed: 6 year/$60 million ($34 million guaranteed)

JETS secondary is sickening.

Buck 09-06-2010 01:45 AM

7 years $46 million?

Wasn't he asking for like 10 years $160 million?
