Do people watch him on the field and see a player that can't play at the NFL level?

From a pure playing standpoint (nevermind character comments), he made a college career out of throwing the ball to his primary read. Either that or running the ball right out of the snap. He's not going to get away with either. And I would argue that his knack for wanting to run the ball before he sees the whole field will hurt him more than it hurts him.

But still... I think attitude will pretty much kill him.

I'd have no problem if we took him. He won't make it that far though.

He'll be there at #2.

He has a much better chance of not being there at #2 overall than he does of being there at our 2nd round selection.

I would almost say that about our first rounder.

If we drafted Newton I'd be thrilled. I might not always agree with the player Pioli picks, but I do trust his background work on who he does take.

That being said, he'll never be available to us at 21.

I meant #2 overall, and I'd be ecstatic if he went #1. In that case, I think Blaine Gabbert will be a fantastic NFL QB and teams should be willing to give up their entire drafts and maybe some players for the right to pick him at #2.

No chance. This draft has no sure fire QB that a team will sale out for, but it goes about 5-6 deep of good top level talent maybe more. If there is a year to stay pat and get good value at QB it's this one.

I think they have boners over an "Athlete" at QB because the Chiefs Current QB can't read defenses, make the right decision quickly nor can he deliver the ball in a timely fashion.

Obviously Newton wouldn't be there at 21 (maybe). But here are a couple of questions if he is there.

Does a more mobile QB that is a threat to run take pressure off of the O-line at all?

If yes then...
Does drafting Newton fix the QB position but also the O-Line position at the same time?

If yes then...
How much better can Newton become with a Highly qualified QB Coach like Jim Zorn getting him ready to take snaps?

The guy also has a cannon of an arm, and went 30-1 as a starter in college. Before he was at Auburn many people said Tebow was the best college football player of all time, and Newton made him look normal. :thumb:
