My wife, and my partners wife were never really that fond of her either. Go figure.

She was amazing. I used to make excuses to come to your office so she could hit on me.

Yessir!!! There would have been a bounty on their heads.

The girl has since thrown a fit and won't respond to emails from the bosses about finishing out the work in this pay period and returning the company computer. It's going to get ugly, I'm afraid, and my wife will be in an awkward spot.

That is called the Supplier's Blues my friend...

Long ago, when I first got into consulting, I had a coworker who was a pretty attractive woman. Not frilly attractive, but elegant attractive. We were starting up a project in a distant city and the client had a social gathering to let everyone get to know each other, and one subcontract member of our consulting team (whom we had hired over the phone) was an eye-scorcher. Gorgeous figure, gorgeous face, and she was really nice as well. We're talking spectacular in terms of appearance. Absolutely spectacular. Seriously. Spectacular. Melt-your-face-off-if-you-get-too-close hot. My coworker and I had a nice conversation with her (no threesome or anything, just a conversation) and we met a bunch of other people and had a generally pleasant evening.

When we were driving back to the hotel we were chatting about who we'd met, and my coworker said, "I hated that Maria woman." [Name changed to protect the innocent.]

I said, "What?"

"I hated her."

"Why do you hate her? She seemed really nice."

"She was all arrogant and snotty. She's not going to be good to work with." She then proceeded to rip apart this other woman. Ripped. Her. Apart.

Now, I had been in the conversation with the two of them. They had not talked at all when I wasn't standing there with them. That Maria woman was very nice. There was absolutely nothing arrogant or snotty about her, and in fact it was the opposite. By all rights she should have been posing in a bikini on a Tahitian beach for seven figures a year, and yet she seemed quite happy with the fact that she was meeting us at a consulting social.

I worked with that coworker for several years, and beginning with Maria I began recognizing the pattern that any time she met a woman who was more attractive than she was, she disliked the woman, and it was never for a legitimate reason. It was amazing and it was completely consistent, and my coworker never knew that she exhibited the pattern. There were only two attractive women that she didn't beat on, and I think that was only because they were other coworkers that I was friends with, so she didn't talk to me about them.

It was quite the eye-opener.

I read that long of a post and that is it? Weak sauce

She'll likely use your wife as a reference, hence the unreasonable behavior.

Yeah. The latest is that she tried to convince the owner of the company that they were mandated to give her a severance package.

I feel bad for the girl and I understand being butthurt... but geeze.

Women suck at getting fired. Dudes usually grab their shit and find the closest beer.

Bob Dole got to cut loose a 7 year employee caught up in a budget induced reduction in force on July 1. That's always fun...

"Good morning. You've not really done anything wrong, but I'm forced to cut someone loose, and your position is the least valuable to the department at this point in time. Here is your severance package. Ed the security guy here will escort you back to your office to collect your personal items."
