Seems like an inequity there.

Please, he's lowering his helmet trying to avoid a helmet to helmet hit.

Hell, you can see him trying to lead with his arm. The game is moving so fast, he sees the guy catching the ball, a split second later he drops it.....bullshit call, bullshit fine, bullshit commissioner.

LMAO shut the **** up

Because the fines for these are made as a disincentive for multi-million dollar contracts as they are the ones usually paying. Courts actually have the ability to raise fines to the maximum if it is not considered enough of a deterrant. Taking 20% of a persons' pay for the year is overkill.

it is moving fast. you dont want to the pussification of the league to continue further than it has, do you?

To me, the fine is too great, not because of the inequity between player salaries, but because none of these guys earn paychecks during the preseason.

Doesn't matter if you're Troy Polamaulu, James Harrison, or this guy.

No one gets paid anything more than per diem until the real games start.

Remember when Herm Edwards fined Tyron Brackenridge something like $14,000 for dancing in the locker room as a rookie? Herm seemed to think it was a big joke, and I was thinking, "This is an undrafted rookie free agent who may or may not make the team. Your moronic sense of humor could cost him everything he earns if he doesn't make it." Out of all the clueless things that Herm did, that may have been the most clueless.

I totally forgot about that. What a d*ck. I guess Herm felt as our leader, he had to take the time to address rookies trying to bond with their possible teammates. he wasn't thinking about winning, that's for sure.

Is the fine going against the guy that came in from the right side of the screen? Because that guy lowered his head and clocked the Patriot with the upper part or crown of his helmet. And he did it to the WR's facemask. That's a textbook illegal hit. He can learn to live off of his 2500 a week. **** him.

I disagree. That hit was fundamentally wrong. Kids are taught not to hit like that starting at about five years old. Nip that shit in the bud right now. He's still making over $2500 after the fine.

Meh, dude is still making ~$150,000 a year AFTER paying the fine. I'm not going to sit here and feel bad for him.

LMAO

I support safe football, and I support reasonable practices to keep these guys safe. That type of hit is also incredibly dangerous for the guy doing the hitting. Way too hard on the neck.

BossChief 09-07-2011 09:30 PM

so what?

if a gas station attendant in lots of states sells to minors, the cops come in and fine the attendant...not the store. most states, the fine is about 250.

If you sell alcohol to a minor in SD (and a couple other states) the cops come into the store and arrest the attendant...the manager has to come down or the store is locked when the arrest happens.

90%+ of the time, when you hit dirty, you made a conscience choice to do so.

I wonder if the NFL would sue the kid if he has an outstanding debt by not playing enough to cover the payments.

Bane 09-07-2011 09:49 PM

**** him.Learn to tackle,pay up or GTFO.
