Not really. They know more than you think.

I know Filipinos who make 600 dollars a month but they save up and get authentic Lakers and Bulls Jerseys.

They follow the NBA very closely and I am sure the NBA and owners do take that into account.

Id like to know where they polled these people from because i can garantee you fans in NBA cities will miss it. Of course the majority of KC area people dont care. duh..

In reality though, even most NBA fans wont truly miss it until football season ends. Not many people cared about NBA games in November/Dec in a normal year anyways.

Yep.

And I miss the NBA but I realize the majority of people on this forum hate the NBA as much or more than they hate soccer. It is what it is.

I live in Phoenix and don't give a shit. Except for local vendor guy and other small people whose livelihoods may be affected, for those people I care. Otherwise BFD. Pro fball, college fball, college hoops, hockey are all happening. It's prime golf weather, quad/motorcycle weather, etc. etc.
Don't care if they stay away a month or a year.

What I wanna know is...how do contract situations work out? Like Dwight Howard is in the last year of his contract with Orlando. If this season is entirely cancelled, will the season not count? I just wanted to see him play his last season (probably) on my team.

Three out of four people are gonna respond that they don't care. Have patience.

That is what the sponsors ask about.
What demographic do you suggest that would be more representative?

Mr_Tomahawk 11-08-2011 12:41 PM

I would rather watch someone play NBA Jams.

76

30 to 44 white males who make between 25 and 40k a year is the NBA target demographic.

The NBA normally plays games in November and December?

That was my first thought as well... I'd like to see the poll results in May if the entire season is cancelled. Hell, if the NFL wasn't around right now, at least I'd have college football & hockey, the NHL, CBB... I wouldn't really miss it until December and January.

This. If it was "76% of Americans who identify themselves as sports fans," it'd be a different story.

As popular as the NFL is, there's still an asston of people who watch 1 football game per year so they can see the new commercials and halftime show, and that's usually the only sporting event they'll go out of their way to watch all year.

And I'm part of the 24%. I'm not dying every day because they're not playing, but I do miss it. I'll miss it a helluva lot more after the Super Bowl, though. Then even more after the NCAA Tournament's over, if the lockout lasts that long.

I love that its gone. More time in the media for college hoops, NHL, and other sports. The NBA is outdated and mundane. I liked it at one time, but its unwatchable anymore. It's time as a major sport has passed. It's nothing but a soap opera of egos, dunks, and 5000 whistles a night
