I does matter. We have to have a coach that is willing to draft a QB.

the only guy from that list I'd be ok with is Gruden. The guy is a winner.

BoneKrusher 12-12-2011 11:41 AM

i'm afraid Scott Pioli + Kyle Orton = Josh McDaniels.

Bruce Arians (Clark does want Pittsburgh West, right?)
Rob Chudzinski (What he did with Newton...we could do with RG3, right?)
Jay Gruden (Again, good work with a young QB, and I love his dad.)
Rob Ryan (Yeah, his star's a bit tarnished right now but I think he could do some great things with our young D.)
Joe Philbin (Yeah, he looks like a computer programmer and won't drop F bombs like Todd, but he did help develop Rodgers.)

Can't see Arians...Clark and Pioli don't seem to like people who worked with Carl.

Fisher, Billick or even Mangini. Believe it or not, Mangini seems to know what he's talking about as an analyst. Billick is extremely smart but too old. Fisher is a can't miss.

I like Gruden, but there's no way he'd get along with Pioli if Haley couldn't get along with Pioli. Abrasive personalities. And based on Tampa, Gruden doesn't want a job if he doesn't have final personnel say, so that won't work here. Plus, if you want to guarantee a coach who will stick with veteran retread QB's, that's Gruden...

durtyrute 12-12-2011 11:51 AM

The only one on that list I'd even consider would be Gruden, but I don't want him either

Don't think he is a quick fix kind of guy, but I think he would bring a pasion into the team and have a gleam in his eye from that glaring shine off of the Vince Lombardi trophy that he just was so close to achieving. He has years of coaching left in him imo.

If you take out Vince Young's games, Fisher has a career 52% winning percentage. In 17 years Fisher's teams made the playoffs 6 times. The man is the very image of mediocrity and why the media loves him so much is completely inexplicable to me.
