Then when Cassel started making strides in 2010, and Weis was getting credit for it in the media, it drove Haley nuts. And Weis had to go.

Holy Shit!

Potentially very ironic.

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. It is true that Haleys boss went out and got a QB before he hired Haley as the coach. Maybe Pioli told him, at the time of his hire, that he had to support Cassel.

Yup. Robinson's credibility is generally beyond reproach. He's taken on far tougher nuts than Todd Haley and has yet to get burned by a source (despite those sources throwing some absolute bombs).

His sources are pretty much rock-solid.

I don't believe a thing Charles Robinson is saying.

Cassel did not excel under Weis. That coaching job was done by Haley. Weis washed his hands of Cassel's development very early.

Three7s 12-12-2011 12:19 PM

Any loser who thought Cassel was a "good" QB deserves to go. Bye Haley.

O.city 12-12-2011 12:19 PM

Well we are gonna find out pretty soon if Pioli is tied to Cassel. Maybe Pioli listened to Weis while he was here and will move on and flush the turd.

IF Weis was against Cassel, Pioli would have listened openly

Almost as rich as the fact the people continue to insist that Weis was the reason Cassel got so much "better" in 2010, despite this nugget...

Not really, given that there was no other option. Haley does come off as rather childish though that he was resentful that Weis got the credit. This will be entertaining, and gives me hope we may not be stuck with McDaniels + Cassel.

The Bad Guy 12-12-2011 12:21 PM

If Pioli listened to Weis, he would have gotten rid of Cassel before he had to pay the bonus.

Reaper16 12-12-2011 12:22 PM

So... if Haley was the one behind Cassel... then Pioli is an idiot for not firing Haley sooner. :D
