All this Stanzi fapping is funny. If Orton can grip and throw the ball, it's going to be him under center.

Okie_Apparition 12-13-2011 12:10 PM

Orton shared the bench with Quinn last season
that will either have Crennel's throat coated with pre throw up
or wet his nickers with excitment

Amnorix 12-13-2011 12:11 PM

Stanzi or Orton is likely to start IMHO, if the book is written on Palko. Crennel isn't going to see any upside to announcing that ahead of time to give the opponent an advantage.

I don't buy into any of the above, I think Todd played who he wanted to and wasn't going to be bullied into playing anyone he didn't want to play.

Who is the other RT on our roster?

Gaither refused to play RT in Baltimore and they cut him... what makes everyone think he was willing to play RT here?

PPG: 15th at 21.4 (Pats 14th at 21.1, BTW).

1st downs given up per game: 28th (only worse are Tampa, Oakland, Indy, and NE).

3rd down conversions given up: tied for 27th with Tennessee with 43% (only worse % are Minny, NE, SD, Indy).

Points given up this year (skewed by a few creampuffs):

Saints: 34
Panthers: 23
Bears: 17
Broncos: 23
Falcons: 14 (an actually respectable outing)
Rams: 3 (creampuff)
Vikings: 27
Chargers: 38
Vikings again: 7
Bucs: 26
Lions: 15
Giants: 35
Raiders: 16

If the Broncos can put up 23, the Vikes 27, and the Bucs 26, I don't see why the Chiefs can't. Especially because this game isn't at Lambeau. The Packers have already gone 13-0 and are heading home for the final two games, with the homefield advantage all but sewn up. The Chiefs will probably be taken lightly, given the HC firing and lack of a quality QB. If there's any time to get them, it's now.

I agree with most of what you are saying. But those numbers reflect an offense that gets up on people quick and scores quick so the defense is on the field a lot. I think they are better than the numbers show.

Crennel is not a slam dunk for the permanent job. He's 64 and not in great health. Right temperament, less-than-ideal time in his life.

With all this smoke around McDaniels (He seems to be to Pioli what Francoeur is to Moore) would anyone really be shocked if the plan was to transition McDaniels in (knowing that he's unsellable as a HC) by hiring Crennel for the short term, handing the offense over to McD, and then once Romeo is done, slide McD into the HC role?

What?

No. I don't think pioli gives two shits what fans want. He'll bring in McDaniels and tell fans to suck it. He's been setting the table for the guy ever since he got fired in Denver.

Pioli is a snake man.

We have to figure out what his master scheme is, though. So we can, you know, blow up his facility and stuff.

I wonder what his escape plan is? Rocket? Laser Shark with Saddle? Prostitute Disguise?

Pioli is a snake man.

Then why didn't he just hire McD in the first place?
