We have the AlluraBed. My bed is worth more than the car I drive....

had a queen size sleep# for over 15 years, and now have a king sleep#. i've never had problems w/the middle space between the mattresses. the only time i'm in the middle of it is when i'm climbing off the mrs and crawling back over to my side.

hope this helps!

If your sleep number is adjusted correctly, you'll never touch the middle of the bed. I've found that I don't roll around nearly as often as I did on a regular mattress.

Of course, the same is true of the Tempur.

how often do you guys have to re-inflate your sleep numbers?

i've adjusted mine once since i've had it(2-3 years). that was because i did some online test that told you what # worked best for you. i thought it was bullshit at first, but it actually seemed to improve my sleep.

interesting. most of the people I've seen online mentioned that they have to "top off" their beds every month or so.

Once a year maybe...or anytime you have to disconnect to move it.

Probably depends on your sleep number. I could see where somebody with a sleep number of 70 or higher might need to top off more often...

Of course, you have to know how to "tune" it.

The ole "you have to know what you're doing" argument.

I had that thing for 2 years and tried several different settings. If there was some special way to "tune it" that wasn't common knowledge then I guess I dropped the ball.

The memory foam topper that I got at Costco doesn't require any tuning and I sleep like a log.

They should have told you at the Select Comfort store how to tune it. You have to do it laying flat on your back, that's the trick.

Mr. Guru, if you're thinking Tempur-pedic, I've got 2 words for you. Angel beds. Same quality, waaay cheaper. Had mine for 4 years, and it is as good as new.
Get one with a coolmax top; no worries whatsoever about overheating.

http://www.sleepnumber.com/eng/sleep...eep_number.cfm

at the bottom of the page. enter required info and it'll suggest a good number to start at.

I did that several times. It just wasn't ever comfortable.
