Losing the home opener will deflate this team with 2 tough road games after. Win it, and we have momentum and I think we can steal 1 of the road games, most likely against Buffalo.

I just think getting off to a great start, like 2010, is essential for this team. Losing the home opener, like last year...well we know what happened.

We're gunna be underdogs against Buffalo & New Orleans. It's not a stretch at all to see this team start 0-3 if we lose the opener.

what team has snowballed like this in back to back seasons to start? I'm not trying to get in panic mode here, but we are losing some good players to start the season, just like last year. Surely there are ways to avoid that or band aid it (i.e. Depth?) No?

I hear ya, but let's wait ans see WTF is wrong first before we compare it to last year.

Hint: his number wasn't 24.

Flowers > Carr by a lot.

Teams have a limited number of roster spots, and they have to divide that number into groups (S, CB, etc...). When you suffer multiple injuries in one group, you'll be weakened. It's guaranteed to happen because of the numbers involved.

If you want to try listing the teams that definitely have more than 2 starting caliber safeties and more than 2-3 starting caliber cornerbacks, I'm sure everyone would love to see that.

We drafted Brown in 2011 and Menzie in 2012 plus we signed alot of young FAs trying to build depth. Do you think we should have used our 1st and 2nd round picks just so we could have some depth? Maybe we should signed a couple of all pros just in case our starters got hurt.

We won't.

The only player lost is Tamba and it has nothing to do with an injury or any other poor decision making, other than Tamba's own decisions.

There are things you can control and there are things you can't.

Hali doing illegal substances and Flowers' injury are just bad luck.
