They need to just cut him. He has no value as a backup. Hopefully, he is tired of KC, and wants a fresh start.

Could it be a cap move? Possibly it makes more sense to reduce his pay and make him the number 3 than cutting him and taking a cap hit. He's not a great 3rd option, but as long as the 1st two slots are taken care of, I don't give too much of a shit.

Just cutting Cassel is cap friendly.
