Palmer is better than Smith.

Not being snarky, I'm honestly curious.

Depends. Aaron Smith in the Chiefs defense would be dominant. If Palmer is in his prime, you have to take an elite QB over a DE.

Also palmer might be less than 9 million

49er fan here. Alex Smith isn't that bad. And if you look at the stats, from the point of the Eagles game and when Singletary was fired, Alex Smith has been pretty damn decent. With or without Harbaugh.

He was a young spread option QB with limited experience under center who was under the thumb of two ignorant defense minded head coaches. Compared to the fact that two of the greatest 'QB Gurus' have taken chances on Alex Smith now.

So the NFL has multiple years on the spread/pistol option that gave RGIII, Wilson, and Kap a leg up. And I doubt any new QB is going to have the same scheme bridge they had. I understand if you were pumped about there mere potential of Geno (or Barkley... if you're on that hill billy heroine), but give it some time to see what you have in Alex Smith. He didn't marry a cheer leader for his long bombs, but he can diagnose the blitz, read defenses, and create some defense saving drives.

just trying to turn a frown upside down

Matt Cassel - 58.9 completion %, 13,495 yards, 82 TD, 57 INT, 24 Fumbles, 80.4 Passer Rating

Alex Smith - 59.3 completion %, 14,280 yards, 81 TD, 63 INT, 36 Fumbles, 79.1 Passer Rating

Smith actually fumbles the ball mor ethan Cassel? Wow that is hard to believe.

Your franchise hasn't drafted a QB that has won a single game in 26 years. This year is an extremely weak QB draft class. I'm sorry, but did any of you watch Geno's entire season?

You're getting a young, healthy, starting caliber QB who has been to the playoffs recently. He is top-tier against the rush, can diagnose defense better than anyone, but he can't throw a perfect touch on the deep ball.

How exactly are you guys so entitled?

'Hamas' Jenkins 02-27-2013 10:48 PM

The guy who can't go through his progressions can diagnose defenses now.

Healthy, huh? How many times has Alex Smith started a full slate of games in his NFL career?

**** him, I already hate this guy more than Matt Cassel, and I didn't think that was possible.

Molitoth 02-27-2013 10:50 PM

Yeah, we have watched 3 years of geno smith win games despite one of the worst defenses in college football.

He's a great prospect, and anyone that fails to see that puts way too much emphasis on the pinstripe bowl.

That settles it

I'm honestly not here to comfort or console you fans. Wishing AIDs and shit on people? The death of Andy Reid's next kid? Y'all are pieces of shit for all I'm concerned. It'd actually be amusing for you all to sweat for 2-3 more months, and maybe even have it take a handful of weeks for Alex to adjust through preseason.

But I'll go ahead and say this again. Alex is a top 15 QB. Easy. He's a well played veteran at 29 and will work extremely well with Andy Reid. At this point he's a more athletic Peyton Manning. I hope you don't believe it, because the trade is going to go through, and it'll be great to see y'all sweat.

You should fly a banner.

I'm happy.

I'm not sure the guy who proclaimed Palmer is better than Smith is qualified enough to say that.

Is Andy Reid going on Alex Smith or is it Alex Smith going on Andy Reid. I mean, I thought I should go off recent playoff wins but I'm not sure.
