So, does anyone have experience with Earthlink broadband in the KC area? I was looking at this - http://www.earthlink.net/access/cable.faces - and briefly chatted with a sales person. 15 Mbps down/1 Mbps up, $39.90/mo for the first 6 months. No contracts, no installation/setup fee, and they don't charge for the modems. Its a little better than TWC prices, but I don't want to do it if the service is crap.

I dumped AT&T for Earthlink. I got the 10 Mbps service for 29.99/mo. It goes to $42/mo. after six months. About the cheapest I could find for a decent connection. I've had it since May and have had no problems.

All that "bundle" bullshit just means they have a hand in it all and will get their money one way or another.

That and it goes to partially fund cable access for those considered low income.

Yeah. I need to go buy a modem also for time warner to get rid of the fee. It pays for itself in a year or less.

Hurry up google fiber.

If you do that you know they will blame 'your' modem anytime anything goes wrong.

They all do that in reality. I pay just under 60 a month for Mediacom here in Illinois, internet only. Just keep renting their Cisco box because it works very well. I never get close to the data limit, and the speed is real solid.
