Its more about the fact that there is nothing behind him. Zilch.

He has one bad year after a great career and all of a sudden your so quick to call him washed up?

If the Chiefs had a capable corner it wouldnt be a big deal. Right now all they have is hope.

Yup, I think that anyone who paid any attention to our cap situation and the actual play of our players expected something like this to happen either this off-season or the next.

Hali will be next if he doesn't get double digit sacks this season or if he has a noticeable decrease in quality of play. I think he still has a couple of effective years left in him because he never depended on elite athleticism anyways, but the team might feel differently with Ford in the fold.

Should rename the Kansas City Ifs that is all this team is a bunch of ifs.

Yep. We were going to suck either way.

Our secondary was horrific last year, and we are worried that it might get worse?

It's all about pass rush and slowing receivers off the line. That's it. I like Flowers, but this is hardly worth giving a **** about.

I'm not too surprised by this, and I've kept my mouth mostly shut this off-season. I'm going on record now though. 5 wins tops. This team is regressing and in further rebuild mode. We'll be contenders in 2017. We may win a playoff game before I die. Maybe.

I've told people for months now that this is the reality of the situation. I still believe that Smith is a stop-gap( and his agent will more than likely make it a reality ). My belief is that the acquisition of Smith coupled with 9 pro bowlers and an easy schedule was the first and last shot for the Herm draftees, and I'm sticking by it. We're moving on.

They'll tag Smith and draft a QB next year.

They save $7.5M by cutting him. Would have only saved $3.5M by trading him, apparently.

uhhmmmm.....no.

He played some good ball for us and I think injuries more than age contributed to his poor showing last year. I'm not happy to see him gone, but I understand the move and wish him well wherever he ends up.

Cooper should be improved with the growth that he showed after his mid-season thrashing.

Parker has been pretty good in limited snaps.

Owens is a vet slot guy.

We play our safeties more than we do our corners anyways. You're more likely to see the combo of:

Cooper, Smith, and Parker along with Abdullah, Berry, and Commings.

than you will the combo of:

Cooper, Smith, Parker, and Owens/Gaines along with Abdullah and Berry.

So if we saved 15 mil over the next two years, why couldn't we have signed Albert?

SMH

Hammock Parties 06-13-2014 01:21 PM

Haha now our safeties are going to moonlight as shutdown CBs.

Hilarious homers.

One team with a good secondary beats Manning in the SB (groundbreaking) and that's the new Formula?

Look at the list of champions the last 10 years that had a great secondary and get back to me.
