You're fine with having a dogshit passing game as long as the Chiefs are a game or two over .500.
You will have to relearn the same lesson again this January.

See, this is what is truly irritating.
You drafturbators project your own obsession with the QB position and fantasy FB metrics onto us, when what you posit as our stance bears no relation to reality.
You think that 'game manager QB' is an exercise in futility. But the truth is, the APEX of relying entirely on the QB, the VERY SUMMIT of Everest, can be seen in the multiple blowouts in the SB the AFC has gifted us. Kelly's Bills, Elway's Broncos without Terrell Davis, 43-8.
It's a team game, and team problems have us at just 1 game over .500. Further, team over achievement have kept us out of the cellar. It remains to be seen whether over achievement develops into long term improvement, or how the return of injured stars figures in to additional improvement.
I completely reject your framing of the argument. I reject the notion that Smith at QB is this singular shortcoming of an otherwise championship caliber team. This team has lots of problems, and lots of promising hints popping up. And Alex is not even among the 5 biggest problems on the team.
Pointing out WR inadequacy, or OL growing pains, or shitty playcalling and clock management, or defensive implosions like last January are not Alexcuses. They are problems that even the most accomplished and prolific of QBs rarely overcome.
