I think it's a former colleague of Reid's, maybe even Joe Banner or Tom Heckert, that's cautioning Hunt from firing him because they're friends.
Clark has fired three head coaches and two GM's since taking over the Chiefs and realizes his friend's job is at stake as well.

Reid reports directly to Clark Hunt so if he's fired, it would be Clark, not John Dorsey, dropping the axe.
If this team continues to lose, it's hard for me to believe that Clark Hunt will sit on his hands. That hasn't been his M.O., regardless of how much money it would cost him.
