You do realize that most addiction stems from a mental aspect right?

All that said, the NFL should seriously revisit its marijuana policy. There is no real, legitimate, reason that it should be on the banned substances list any more than alcohol. If someone abuses it and it causes issues, then he can be dealt with by the gentle, loving, tolerant personnel conduct policies of Kommissar Goodell. Otherwise, WTF cares. Public perception on the issue has chagned, as has the law in many states, to recognize that marijuana is not in remotely the same class of drug as cocaine or heroin.

I agree with all of this.

They will stop testing for it eventually, probably as part of the next CBA.

JFC.

Summer of 2015, on the advice of a doctor, I got a medical card and two vapes, one of which was CBD cannabinoid with only 7% THC. I haven't touched either one since around September of last year and they're probably bad.

Before that, I hadn't "experimented" since I was 16 years old.

That said, I have no problem with it, as seemingly everyone I know has a medical card. It's stupid that it's a banned substance in the NFL.

You guys are picking a hilarious hill to die on but again you are both smokers so its obvious the motivation.

He wants to feel better against the disorders. You'd rather him be addicted to SSRIs or something. MUCH worse, IMO.

Some real Reefer Madness going on with you

100% agree. Young man is an incredible football talent, his employer needs to stay out of his personal medicinal choices and let him play football. I would love to see him sue the league over all of this.

Sue them for what?

nope, too soon.

It will take awhile before they stop tasting, maybe even a federal move towards legalization.

Always follow the money.

The Government won't legalize pot because Big Pharmacy is bribing them not to. Pot will cut into their billion dollar a year pain pill cartel .

The NFLPA won't push to stop testing because they don't want to give up money in exchange for stopping testing.

I believe it to be a performance enhancement drug.

Hell, Doc Ellis pitched a no-hitter tripping on LSD. Love that story. lol

Nickhead 09-30-2016 05:15 PM

weed is not a drug. lets get that straight ermkay :D

its not only that big pharma will lose out, but the oil industry, the paper industry, the textiles industry. pot/hemp has over 1000 uses that could aid society.

the irony is it's the drugs the docs have the people on that make things worse. it warms my heart when i see examples where children are treated with the oils and their seizures 'almost immediately stop' (i am not being literal here, but my point is made). :D

Not sure if serious but do you know that it is not even tested for by the Olympics?
