Smith has pretty awful stats as a passer.

lol fantasy geek, the only stat that matters is wins and Smith is 50-24-1 since 2010.

Okay, so why are the Eagles 3-0 with a rookie QB in superficially the same type of offense?

lmao Wentz is throwing for 5 yards per completion, that's awful..

He's just too scared to pull the trigger on the plays top level QBs need to pull the trigger on.

Defenses are taking away his ability to run with the ball and are forcing him to play outside his comfort zone and he simply isn't responding.

He needs to be on a short leash after the bye week, but he won't be.

Considering you were the one leading the charge on Alex Smith's "this is the breakout" year in 2013, 2014, and 2015, if you're finally throwing in the towel on what he is, then it truly is over.

I think it is.

IMO the line is in good shape and Alex's play makes it much worse than it seems. The receivers are good with the possibility to be very deadly with the right QB. The backs are elite. The tight ends are top shelf.

Alex hasn't responded to defenses catching up to his style.

It seems like defenses are somewhat conceding the deeper passes to take away the qbs ability to run with it and he's simply not taking advantage of that.

Even though Smith was winning with Harbaugh as his boss, it is becoming much easier to see why Harbaugh made the change at QB and went in a different direction.

I am ready for that switch here. Can't set us back too far IMO. And it is apparent it is going to take an injury to Smith for that to happen, just like when Cassel was here as Pioli's boy.

Let's just hope the injury happens on the road this time instead of at Arrowhead.

Our line couldn't even stop a 3 man rush. Kelce AND Fisher together couldn't stop Harrison on a key play.

I'm not gonna lie, I hope Smith gets his shit figured out and plays well, but....

if he doesn't, we've got one hell of a backup who could potentially do big things.

Honestly, there's no excuses for this offense not to be better. We have some serious firepower with Maclin, Kelce, Hill, Conley, Charles, etc. Our OL is much better than they look right now.

If Smith struggles out of the bye, Foles deserves a look.

Flashback to the last time Nick Foles played with some real talent around him:

There should be some real pressure on Smith right now, but I doubt there is.

TigeRRUppeRRcut 10-05-2016 06:52 PM

Who knew that Gronk and Kelce are the same age at 27? So weird...

mcaj22 10-05-2016 06:57 PM

Jeff Fisher ruined Foles.

Well he didn't help, but Nick's got an apparent love for Reid and I'd bet he's fine now. The Rams had the worst surrounding cast in the NFL just about for him. Wouldn't be the case here.

But at the end of the day, either Alex will play better or will continue to suck but a change won't happen I doubt.

LMAO

The way they structured the contract of Foles seems to indicate that it's possible he takes over at QB at some point this year.

Andy liked him enough to draft him in the third...gotta think all the speed at WR would be better utilized with a guy that at least tries to push the ball.

TigeRRUppeRRcut 10-05-2016 07:05 PM

Replace Foles' name with Murray and this is the same discussion as last year thanks to overreaction planet. He's a backup plan in the event of a Smith injury.

Get used to it.

And he did all of that with Reid calling plays! Has Reid forgotten how much fun that was?
