And when teams know the 5280 number, then do nothing to deal with it (spend the week in Denver doing their best to acclimate to it for Sunday's game, well you know that the 2nd half is going to have a built-in fatigue factor for one team that the other doesn't suffer. Lord knows if I was an AFC West owner, I'd at least try it a few times, it's not like they go full-bore during the week anyway. One owner could buy 50+ acres, put a couple of fields on it, build some decent living quarters (barracks) for the teams, and rent it out 8-10 times a year (if it works). It might make a lot of sense for an ACF West owner to do that (if they have any spare cash).
I know it can take 3-6 weeks to acclimate to altitude, and this would give the team only one week, but it's better than 12-15 hours.
It all depends on how bad you want to compete.
