No, I didn't try the coconut. The shrimp truck is disqualified.

I think we really should call the guy and see if we could get him to lower his rate for a few weeks.

I'll say it. I'm not proud. McDonalds' quarter-pounder with cheese combo for about $5. Comes with fries and Dr. Pepper. About 1,100 calories.

There's no way that is still around $5. I bet it's at least $6.50.

I'm getting the sense that you're cool as long as it comes with Dr. Pepper.

He's a Texan at heart.

I actually prefer Pibb, but it's more exclusive. I'm not sure you can get Pibb in a sub-$10 meal.

But yeah, pretty much. The prune-based soft drink is integral to the $10 experience.

I did a quick google and saw a $5 price, and I was skeptical, too. This site shows a price of $6.66 in Colorado, which seems more accurate.

Buffalo Chicken Pita from Pita Pit with water $7.39

Image not accurate to buffalo chicken order. Feel free to order any pita that fits your fancy.. even those breakfast ones I'm sure are tasty. If you want eggs, bacon, hashbrown and veggies in a damn pita I'm not going to stop you.

I'll go ahead and say it. Mr. Pibb is the Nickleback of soda.

I don't know if independent places are allowed, but I stop at a gyros place occasionally on my walk home, and they have a fantastic gyros/fries/Dr. Pepper combo for $8.25. Here's a picture, but substitute the beef gyro for the chicken one. Top-notch french fries.

Best meals under $10 tourney

If you're looking for cheap and good, you can't go wrong with a hot dog combo and a slice of pizza from Costco. Unhealthy I know, but damn for $3.50 it should top any list imo.

You still would have $6.50 left. Can't beat that.

yeah dude, I agree.

the dogs, and even sliced pizza hit the spot sometimes.

and I live about 1/8th mile from one. each time I have a dog from there, I ask my wife "man....explain to me again why I don't just come here for a dog or a slice on a weekend for lunch?"

Wonder if in the romper room we should create Dr. Pepper vs. Mr. Pibb, coke vs. Pepsi, mountain dew vs. Mellow yellow poll threads. A root beer one with all of the different good ones out there would be a great discussion.

I'm the same way, I only eat there when I shop. I never think about going there for lunch, hell you can get an entire Costco take-n-bake pizza for $8.99.
