Big time motivation for both sides of the ball to make a statement today and prove the doubters wrong. I am sure a lot of those doubters will still be spewing their BS on television and radio over the next 7 days. Chiefs should continue to use it as strong motivation.

This looks like a good place to add Captain 29

They showed lack of effort until the raiders game, also benching parker and scandrick.

Yep, these 2 are more athletic than Parker and Scandrick. They had to get their feet, minds adjusted to the speed of the game but we are seeing the benefits of it. Nnadi akes us more physical up front alongside of Jones.

Moving Houston from playing as a standup linebacker to LDE/OLB.

Now we have Chris Jones and Justin Houston on the line of scrimmage where they can rush the passer and make plays all game long. Not just when Sutton gets around to calling a blitz for Houston.

Now when Sutton calls a blitz and walks up Ford, we have Houston and Ford on either end with Jones coming up the middle. It brings pressure without doing anything drastic.

I also think that Ward is developing, which helps a lot. It allows Fuller to stay in the slow. Nelson and Ward on the outside with Fuller in the slot where he belongs.

Benching Parker

Yep, the kids are on the job leaning. Getting better, Sorensen is getting what stride he can produce back, Jones, Houston and Ford are healthy and balling!

Scandrick and Parker being replaced with Ward and Lucas has been huge. Bob actually called a blitz here or there early on. The big story was the D-line though. Pressures, sacks, knocking passes down, moving Luck into awkward throwing angles. Bob still had a drive or two where he stubbornly stayed in dime and we got gashed in the run game. Overall we stopped em when it mattered and ran enough clock on offense. The offense needs to do better late in these games though

Much improvement today!

The defense is still awful against the run and fundamentally bad in a lot of ways, but they are not as terrible against the pass as they were the first half of the season, and they can create more negative plays than a bad defense should, which so far has been enough.

It's all coming together, well at least it did today! :)

Young guys+ Refs let them play. Not a lot of DB penalties, just 2 Phantom OL calls

The official we got is known for being the most lax.

prhom 01-12-2019 09:48 PM

We batted down a ton of passes this game. Jones has at least 3. Never seen so many batted passes in a game.

PHOG 01-12-2019 09:52 PM

I don't know, but they played their ass off, WAY TO GO D!!!!

He was wearing one, it just wasn't plugged in. And his playsheet was listings for retirement homes in Florida.

I really think it was the officials, and not in a bad way. But through most of the year our D has been horribly penalized, but tonight our defensive backs seemed to realize that the refs were going to let them play and they definitely took advantage by playing physical coverage. The Colts dropped some balls but that's because every play was tightly contested. That type of defense will wear a team down.

It was like something they must have scouted, like maybe Luck has changed his motion a little due to the injury, and he throws a lot of balls that could be tipped. Chris Jones was just a man today, too.

Watching the defense and especially Houston today I was reminded of the video someone posted after the Raider game in the locker room celebrating the Division Championship.

Staylor26 posted the "Justin Houston wants a mother****ing ring" That quote kept running through my head today.

Seriously minimized the PI, holding, illegal contact penalties.

Whoever made the call to have the balls to bench 2-3 starters and admit that they had ****ed up playing them all season, deserves a raise. We chastised Andy for treating the Seattle game like a preseason game, but maybe he’s smarter than us!

eDave 01-13-2019 06:02 AM

Andy is a sand bagging mofo. Everyone knows this.
